This person may use several different machines throughout the day. The metal shop supports several other departments, including tube fabrication, wall fabrication, furniture fabrication, and the assembly line. Key Responsibilities: • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures • Follows all pre-established installation and quality methods, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency of work • Reads order-specific job travelers and/or engineered drawings to ensure each order is produced to specifications • Uses various industrial machines, such as shear, press, roller, etc. to fabricate metal parts • Completes all job duties within given time constraints • Performs other duties as assigned • Cross-trains between several different jobs • Cleans and maintains work area • Pursues continuous improvement to improve efficiency of job duties and work flow Qualifications Job Requirements: • High school diploma or GED • Attention to detail • Excellent problem solving skills • Good verbal and written communication skills • Needs good visual judgment to notice errors and/or defects • Ability to accurately read a tape measure • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions • Ability to work in a fast paced, multifunctional team oriented work environment • Ability to work variable hours with short notice (up to 50+ hrs. per week) Physical Requirements and Environment • Must be physically capable of safely lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. without assistance, some items are large and/or awkward and up to 200 lbs. and would require a two-person lift • Involves standing, bending, lifting, twisting, and climbing ladders for long periods as required • Requires repetitive movement • Includes exposure to noise levels that are distracting and/or uncomfortable • Requires wearing personal protective equipment
