A Machinist at GARR TOOL works at a single work station in a team setting and uses a manual grinding machine to modify solid carbide blanks to tight tolerances primarily at the beginning of the manufacturing process. A CNC Machinist at GARR TOOL operates up to 6 Computer Numerical Control (CNC) grinders to manufacture carbide cutting tools to blueprint specifications. The ideal Machinist at GARR TOOL: • Has production experience in a quality focused manufacturing setting • Enjoys and is skilled at creating a product from start to finish • Experience and ability visualizing images in 3D (CNC Machinist) • Can focus and drill down on independent work • Multitasks and works with multiple projects at one time (CNC Machinist) • Communicates well within a team environment • Is mechanically-minded • Can calculate basic addition and subtraction in decimals • Uses computers for data entry (CNC Machinist) • Has a high school diploma or GED If this describes you, please give examples in your application, resume, and/or cover letter. The physical abilities required for this role include standing, reaching, bending, lifting 10-30 lbs., precise visual and audible inspection, verbal communication and the ability to be mobile in and around machinery. Our Machinists work in a clean and well maintained 200,000 square foot facility with a wide variety of technology and equipment.
