3rd Shift Machining Production Associate

General Production positions are run through a staffing agency for approximately 30-90 days before being eligible to be hired in to ACM. As low as $0/week for med/den/vis bundle! • FREE gym memberships with Wellness program • 5.5 weeks paid time off at 1 year! • 8 paid holiday days starting on day 1 • 8 paid shutdown days per year • Vacation days- 9 days after 3 months of employment • 401k Match- Fully vested 100% up to 4%. 50% on 5-6% • Employer engagement- Have your ideas heard through our suggestion system (quarterly payout $$) • Company provided uniforms, Safety shoe reimbursement ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures. • Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments. • Listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems. • Stop machines to remove finished work pieces, change tooling, setup, or work piece placement according to required machining sequences. • Lift work pieces to machines manually. • Check to ensure that work pieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation. • Set up and operate computer-controlled machines or robots to perform one or more machine functions on metal work pieces. • Monitor machine operation and control panel displays and compare readings to specifications in order to detect malfunctions. • Monitor coolant systems. • Maintain machines and remove and replace broken or worn machine tools, using hand tools. • Stack or load finished items, or place items on conveyor systems. • Clean machines, tooling, and parts using solvents/solutions and rags. • Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications. • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems. • Mark items with details such as grade, acceptance or rejection status. • Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary process adjustments. • Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials with color charts, templates, or samples to verify conformance to standards. • Read dials and meters to verify that equipment is functioning at specified levels. • Remove defects, such as chips, burrs, lap corroded, or pitted surfaces per established standards. • Adjust, clean, or repair products or processing equipment to correct defects found during inspections. • Set controls, start, and monitor machines that automatically measure, sort, or inspect products. • Maintain established 5-S standards and communicate problems through Leadership. Position will be located in Coldwater, Michigan.
