Brief Summary of Job Duties: Under supervision of a supervisor or lead personnel, HVAC Mechanic performs a variety of skilled tasks in connection with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems and related equipment for the University owned Residence Halls, Apartments, Dining Commons and related buildings to accomplish the operational needs of the department. Welds and fabricates to satisfy minor repairs to University owned and operated HVAC equipment. Utilizes both gas and electric and wire feed welders. • 10% General Duties - Instructs or leads skilled, semi-skilled assistants. Complies with department's safety program as implemented by the supervisor. Researches and orders materials needed to complete work orders. Generates and closes out computerized work orders. Utilizes cell phone to communicate with dispatcher, supervisor and co-workers.
