Their duties include fixing machinery, plumbing, heating and wiring, inspecting buildings to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs with the building’s inhabitants. What is the day to day? • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs and potential issues • Perform preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations Troubleshoot and repair various building systems and equipment • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes • Collaborate with other team members and external contractors as needed • Assist in the implementation of energy efficiency initiatives • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry standards and new technologies Desired experience or technical skills - Required • High school diploma or equivalent • 2+ years of experience in building maintenance or a related field • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing • Proficiency in using hand and power tools • Basic computer skills for maintenance management systems • Valid driver's license and clean driving record • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints • Strong problem-solving and communication skills • Flexibility to work overtime, as needed, including, evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations Preferred • Technical school certification preferred • Familiar using CMMS (computer maintenance management system) • EPA Universal #HVACjobs
