Overview The Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or, in your lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival. Stryten Energy is hiring for the Salina team! New employee orientations on a weekly basis. Orders are up and we need additional team members to meet our customer demands! HVAC Technicianss install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial/industrial air-conditioning equipment and multi-zone heating and cooling systems to ensure they are working efficiently, properly and affordably. Our plant is located in Salina, KS but we have employees that live in our neighboring towns such as Concordia, Ellsworth, Herrington and McPherson. Responsibilities • Maintain and repair HVAC systems and related equipment. • Follow the preventative maintenance schedule and perform routine system maintenance, including cleaning and replacing parts, testing for leaks, adjusting controls and making minor repairs where needed. • Troubleshoot for electrical problems. Make repairs as required. • Document and track preventive maintenance accordingly and in compliance with EPA regulations. • Maintain efficient environmental conditions. Adjust system controls to recommended settings. Test system performance using special tools and test equipment. • Conserve, recover and recycle CFC and HCFC refrigerants used in A/C and refrigeration systems in compliance with EPA regulations. • Test systems for gas leaks, carbon monoxide issues, and fluid leaks. • Evaluate needs and make recommendations for correction and/or improvements • Complete all required paperwork in a timely and professional manner. • Perform other work as assigned by the supervisor. • Perform all work within the confines of Stryten safety rules and regulations. • Hazardous waste training shall be provided to the employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position, and a review of this training provided every 12 months thereafter. The employee will complete a program of classroom instruction. The employee shall be supervised until training is completed. The training shall consist of a review of proper management of hazardous waste, satellite accumulation containers, how to review and prepare a hazardous waste manifest, and proper labeling requirements. • Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning. Qualifications • Successful completion of related trade school • OSHA-10 certification (if not currently certified, must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire) • Current Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certificate • Intermediate/proficient skills in: • Layout Plans • Electrical Drawings • Read & Interpret EPA Drawings • Reading of Blue Prints • Valid Kansas Driver License and clean driving record • Proficient at inspecting, troubleshooting and making repairs on: air-cooled chillers (recip, screw, or scroll) • RTU, package units, water-source heat pumps, and split systems (any size) • AHU’s • cooling towers • Low Pressure Boilers • pumps • air compressors • air dryers • VAV boxes • VFD’s • Ability to effectively manage time and complete delegated work within specified timeframe • Ability to read and interpret EPA regulations • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy • Ability and willingness to follow oral and written directions • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug-screen and physical tests • Must be available to be on stand-by or work during evenings, weekends, and holidays. • Employment is contingent upon satisfying all jobsite-specific access requirements. • Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid) • Frequently lifting from grams up to 50 pounds • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment • Ability to climb ladders, squat, bend, and work in confined spaces • Hand and power tools, welders, grinders, torch, 2-way radio. • Personal protective equipment. We are seeking an experienced HVAC Installer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, setting up, and configuring HVAC systems for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
