Min Compensation: USD $25.00/Hr. Max Compensation: USD $40.00/Hr. Responsibilities: • Provide the highest level of technical ability, quality, value, and integrity to our customers • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration units for commercial customers. • Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems • Travel to job sites in service area and work with dispatcher to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer • Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers • Maintain good working order of company vehicle, equipment, and electronics • Maintain stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle • Document details of services and parts provided to customers electronically through iPad applications • Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and be able to explain need for and value of recommended solutions • Participate in company-provided training opportunities • Identify and report potential opportunities for additional business (new unit/ system, PM contracts, and additional services) What We’re Looking For: • High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent • 2+ years of recent HVAC/R Technician field experience • Must live within 30 miles of location of position listed • Valid driver's license • EPA Certificate • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans • Knowledge with advance principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills • Basic computer skills for iPad and cell phone communication and documentation • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays - if needed Physical Requirements: • Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and/or talking • Able to alternate between standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching • Able to operate an iPad, cell phone, computer and/or other office/work-related machinery • Able to stand for extended periods • Able to travel as needed on daily basis • Able to lift up to 100 lbs. • Regularly requires climbing • Occasionally able to work in office environment, as needed

Lead District Maintenance - HVAC

Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/District Maintenance - Licensed HVAC Date Posted: 3/21/2024 Location: Maintenance/Supply DepartmentThis positions works year round, 40 hours per week. Base hourly rate is $23.05 with additional compensation for past work-related experience and level of education. Purpose: The Lead District Maintenance - HVAC performs routine repairs and maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems including air distribution machinery, pneumatic and digital controls, hot and chilled water distribution, and variable volume systems. Independently employs specially designed software and remote computer links to monitor systems and troubleshoot malfunctions. This position will also work in a general maintenance capacity to maintain school building and grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of district facilities. To accomplish these tasks the HVAC technician must work closely with the staff and administration of USD 253. Responsible to: Director of Maintenance Payment rate: As established by the Emporia Board of Education Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Possess journeyman or master HVAC related license. • Must have EPA refrigerant type I and II or universal certification.. • Ability to read and interpret building blueprints. • Ability to read and interpret technical and job related materials. • Prior work experience in HVAC and general maintenance. • Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the Central Office. • Desire to continue career improvement. • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
