Roles and Responsibilities: • Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment (RTUs, splits, heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, mini-splits, make-up air, exhaust fans). • Fabricate/modify/repair sheet-metal and flexible ductwork; seal and insulate to spec. • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance: filter changes, belt replacements, coil cleaning, lubrication, and performance checks. • Service and maintain ancillary equipment (air compressors, pumps, VFDs, humidifiers, ERVs). • Work with Building Automation Systems (BAS) to monitor, trend, and adjust setpoints/alarms. • Install and join refrigerant piping using sleeves, couplings, or unions; solder connections with a torch to create a sealed refrigerant circuit. • Connect motors, compressors, thermostats, humidity controls, and ventilation fans to control panels, and wire panels to the power source. • Troubleshoot and replace defective controls, thermostat, switches, fuses, air/water filters, and electrical wiring to repair installed units. • Provide HVAC design consultation and technical input for remodels and new construction projects, ensuring systems are properly integrated and meet project requirements. • Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, refrigerant usage (EPA logs), and service notes. • Additional duties as assigned.
