About the position A.T. Still University is seeking a non-exempt HVAC Mechanic for its Kirksville, Missouri campus. This role is responsible for the installation, monitoring, repair, and preventative maintenance of HVAC and mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety across the campus facilities. Responsibilities • Perform routine and emergency repairs, maintenance, and annual preventative maintenance on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment. , • Assess and analyze issues with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment. , • Monitor computer HVAC system to ensure proper functioning and identify issues. , • Respond to service calls. , • Perform inventory of filters and belts to ensure adequate stock. , • Replace major components such as condenser coils, evaporator coils, compressors, control components, and motors. , • Adjust manual and actuated dampers for air flow and air balancing needs. , • Ensure bearings and belts are properly maintained and changed when necessary. , • Regularly clean condenser and evaporator coils of debris. , • Perform tasks related to general construction. , • Install new ductwork. , • Install new plumbing lines. , • Assess issues and repair fume hoods. , • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • Must have or be able to obtain EPA Section 608 Type III or Universal Certification within the first year of employment. , • Experience in HVAC heating and cooling, electrical, plumbing, and general construction. , • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. , • Knowledge of electrical single phase and 3 phase power. , • Knowledge of refrigeration equipment. , • Knowledge of EPA regulations and code requirements. , • Ability to operate HVAC computer software. , • Computer literate.
