ATSU - HVAC Mechanic

About the position Responsibilities • Perform routine and emergency repairs, maintenance, and annual preventative maintenance on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment. • Assess and analyze issues with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment. • Monitor computer HVAC system to ensure proper functioning and identify issues. • Respond to service calls. • Perform inventory of filters and belts to ensure adequate stock. • Replace major components such as condenser coils, evaporator coils, compressors, control components, and motors. • Adjust manual and actuated dampers for air flow and air balancing needs. • Ensure bearings and belts are properly maintained and changed when necessary. • Regularly clean condenser and evaporator coils of debris. • Perform tasks related to general construction. • Install new ductwork. • Install new plumbing lines. • Assess issues and repair fume hoods. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • Must have or be able to obtain EPA Section 608 Type III or Universal Certification within the first year of employment. • Experience in HVAC heating and cooling, electrical, plumbing, and general construction. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. • Knowledge of electrical single phase and 3 phase power. • Knowledge of refrigeration equipment. • Knowledge of EPA regulations and code requirements. • Ability to operate HVAC computer software. • Computer literate. Nice-to-haves • Experience with computerized HVAC Trane software reports and work requests.
