Duties: • Organize work by studying work orders, diagrams, specifications, drawings, and blueprints; gather required materials. • Establish environmental systems by mounting, installing, fabricating, or connecting compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, expansion and discharge values, motors, temperature, and humidity controls, fans, control panels, switches, fuses, filters, gauges, ducts, piping, tubing, and related components; complete power connections. • Tests and repair environmental systems by operating the systems; identify malfunctions; repair or replace sealants, parts, and components. • Keep tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintain supplies; perform preventive maintenance; call for repairs. * Document actions by completing equipment records. • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; comply with legal regulations. * Update job knowledge by participating in company educational opportunities; reading technical publications. • Accomplish maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed. HVAC Maintenance Technician

Are you an experienced HVAC professional looking for a long-term opportunity with a company that values skill, independence, and career growth? We are seeking a Senior HVAC Service Technician to join our expanding team serving clients across eastern Iowa, western Illinois, and nearby states. You will work on a wide range of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including hot water systems, DX systems, chillers, VRV/VRF systems, cooling towers, and low-voltage controls. This position offers autonomy in the field while being part of a supportive and collaborative organization. Journeyman HVAC Service Technician

The HVAC Journeyman will perform maintenance of HVAC equipment to include repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring. This role will require intermediate to advanced independent diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of CATI (Chillers) and CATII (Non-Chiller) equipment. What you will do: • Perform maintenance of all HVAC & applied equipment and on-site start-up procedures. • Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring. Perform intermediate to advanced independent diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of equipment. • Conduct warranty service application by independently inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality for equipment. • Verify functionality of new equipment. Educate customers on proper use of equipment, maintenance schedule, and operating manual. • Problem-solve issues using reasoning and logic. • Communicate with individuals who installed the system. • Program new control systems using touchscreens and computers. • Assist the owner's representatives to demonstrate that the system has been set up properly. • Document actions taken on the jobsite to be included with project report. • Direct discussions with building owners to assist with ongoing maintenance and service. • Prepare wiring diagrams. • Wear personal protective equipment when completing service tasks. • Complete jobsite hazard assessment prior to initiating service and adhere to safety policies and OSHA guidelines. • Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication. Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call. Explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences. • Communicate potential sales opportunities to the sales staff through the quote process. • Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, product quality reports (PQR), and articles as required. • Basic data entry and ability to navigate the use of email, internet, word processing programs. Download programs into equipment and micro controllers. Analyze trend data to ensure optimal performance. • Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld. Qualifications: Must have: • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. • 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. • State license or certifications as required by the market. • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary. Nice to have: • Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products. • Current first aid / CPR card, OSHA 10 Certification. This position is part of the Pipefitters Local union.
