Purpose The main functions of this position are to Install, maintain and repair certain HVAC systems under the direction of HVAC Mechanic and/or Senior Manager. Guides and advises customer to select the most appropriate equipment to fulfill their requirements. Responsible for equipment from installation to end-of-service by performing maintenance, warranty and emergency repairs. Accountabilities Service, Install and Maintenance Ensuring customer installations compliance with code (16NYCRR Part 261 and Fuel Gas Code) and company standards Installation and service of certain HVAC equipment and related materials Communication with customers/vendors/clients Verify operational efficiency, checking equipment overall functionality, routine maintenance Disconnecting and removing equipment Parts salvaging and warehouse inventory organization Support of Collections & Billing Department functions Ability to work in confined spaces Performs other related duties as assigned Recordkeeping Create detailed customer install notes and pictures (serials, parts, etc.) Create estimates, material sheets, warranty sheets, customer contracts, etc. On Call/Emergency Response Perform on call duties as required Ability to work weekends, after hours, and on public holidays Education and Experience Age 18 or over High School Diploma 1+ years of related experience Section 608 EPA Certification Valid New York State driver's license Physically fit for strenuous manual labor in extreme weather conditions Writing and oral communication skills are required. Must be able to communicate information clearly and effectively. Work requires the ability to use basic math in various technical aspects of the role. Work requires the ability to competently read in order to understand procedures and various instructions contained in technical documents. Work requires the ability to write in order to accurately express information from inspections, findings, installations, etc. and accurately capture data for recordkeeping purposes. Work is widely varied, to include involvement with customers, contractors, vendors, management and accounting. Must learn and understand the interdependency of all company operations and be able to analyze and prioritize situations as they arise on a daily basis. Work requires the ability to make decisions that are within Liberty's O&M procedures and NY rules and regulations. Must be able to perform duties and functions effectively with minimal supervision. Computer skills in Microsoft Office preferred Previous gas industry experience would be considered an asset Maintain residency within or between one of the following townships after your date of hire: Gouverneur, Heuvelton, Lisbon or Ogdensburg. Position: CHMC - HVAC MECHANIC II Location: City of Ogdensburg Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center · CHMC MAINTENANCE Maintenance/Trade Full Time, day shift, 7-3 Posted 01/06/2025 Internal Posting Dates: January 6, 2025 - January 11, 2025 CHMC-Maintenance- HVAC Mechanic II-Full Time-Night Shift-7p-7:30a 12-hour shifts-Requisition 8106 Pay Range: $25.86-$33.80*+ An Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic II carries out the repair, maintenance, and Preventative Maintenance (PM) program on air conditioning, refrigeration, and related equipment. Responsibilities include: • Tracking usage and loss of refrigerants and completion of tracking report. • Timely and satisfactory completion of PM program and work orders. • Setting up and maintaining parts, tools, and equipment inventories. • Utilizing safe and proper handling and disposal of refrigerants. • Completing all required documentation of receipt, disposal, and loss of refrigerants. • Installing and servicing a variety of air conditioning, refrigeration, and related equipment. • Following wire schematics, blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers’ instructions. • Checking equipment for proper operation and calibration. • Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns. • Operating and maintaining the PASCO Building Management System. • Using a variety of test equipment. • Maintaining the hospital buildings in livable and workable condition relative to heat, light, power, air conditioning, and other environmental factors. Additional responsibilities include performing a variety of general, mechanical, and preventative maintenance as well as inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of equipment and facilities of the hospital. Work is performed in shop area and hospital facilities, both interior and exterior, and in all weather conditions. Tasks involve: • Standing, using both hands in operations, climbing ladders, stooping, and kneeling. • Intermittent carrying of equipment. • Strenuous physical exertion when handling heavy and bulky materials (up to 40 lbs. unassisted). Exposure to moderate or high noise levels from operating machinery, high risk from moving parts, high temperatures from boiler plant operations, and cold winter weather conditions is expected. Work is performed in a hospital environment where there is possible exposure to infectious diseases, and responding to Code Orange Patient Intervention events is required. Position requires on-call rotation and is subject to 24-hour call-in in the event of an emergency. Rotation into evening shifts, weekend shifts, and on-call shifts are required.
