The Job at a Glance As an Inside Service Technician (also known as a Tech Wizard), you will directly communicate with end users and field technicians to provide technical support over the phone and/or via email to assist in repairs on warranty and non-warranty cold side foodservice equipment! After completing the onboarding process, you will also have an opportunity to earn all Commercial Food Service Equipment Service Association (CFESA) certifications. A Typical Day • Provide exceptional customer service, effectively communicating equipment information and troubleshooting solutions in a friendly and professional manner • Provide technical support to end users and field technicians over the phone and/or via email (30+ cases per day) • Utilize equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and parts listings to diagnose and resolve equipment issues • Maintain all customer call information into a company database to better assist future inquiries • Work closely with manufacturers to recommend engineering changes and document equipment/component failure rates To Land This Opportunity • You have experience in electric/gas appliance repair, refrigeration, or HVAC (or relevant training/schooling) • You’re an all-star communicator and are proficient in English (both written and verbal) • You have a quality, high speed internet connection at home • You’re confident using a computer and navigating programs such as MS Word & Outlook • You’re passionate about troubleshooting and finding innovative solutions to difficult problems • You have the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced, team oriented atmosphere • You are available to work an 8 hour shift M-F between 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (CST) with flexibility as needed About Your Future Team The Technical Service group is a team of experienced, passionate, and dedicated professionals. This is a field-based position responsible for installation, routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of Commercial HVAC and related Mechanical systems. Our Service Techs must demonstrate excellent communication skills, as well as an aptitude for problem solving, time management, and high-level customer service. Key Responsibilities • Safely perform scheduled preventive maintenance routines. • Read/interpret blueprints and specifications. • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/R systems. • Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle. • Determine diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations. • Provide exceptional customer service. • Communicate and explain fully to customers current issues and what needs to be corrected. • Identify and report to owner potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services). • Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and company work vehicle. Essential Qualifications and Competencies • 3-5 years of HVAC experience required. • EPA Certification desired. • Additional certifications such as CTEP, Natural Gas, S-Electrical, and Oil are a plus. • Knowledge of Build-Ops platform desired but not required. • Strong interpersonal communication skills. • Ability to work efficiently and identify inefficiencies in work processes. • High level of reliability, follow-through, discretion and integrity. • Must possess proactive, positive problem-solving skills. • Must be an energetic and enthusiastic collaborative team player. • Excellent communication skills both written and oral. • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. • Must maintain a company vehicle. • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a daily basis • Must be able to climb up and down Scaffolding, Ladders, Stairs as job requires. • U.S. citizenship or a current, valid U.S. work permit is mandatory • Applicants must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license. • A background verification and motor vehicle check will be required. • A pre-employment post-offer Human Performance Examination is required for this position.
