HVAC Service Technician

Description Job Summary: Alliance Group is seeking a Full-time HVAC Service Technician based out of our Plattsburgh, NY operations center. This is a field-based position responsible for installation, routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of Commercial HVAC and related Mechanical systems. Our Service Techs must demonstrate excellent communication skills, as well as an aptitude for problem solving, time management, and high-level customer service. Key Responsibilities • Safely perform scheduled preventive maintenance routines. • Read/interpret blueprints and specifications. • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/R systems. • Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle. • Determine diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations. • Provide exceptional customer service. • Communicate and explain fully to customers current issues and what needs to be corrected. • Identify and report to owner potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services). • Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and company work vehicle. Essential Qualifications and Competencies • 3-5 years of HVAC experience required. • EPA Certification desired. • Additional certifications such as CTEP, Natural Gas, S-Electrical, and Oil are a plus. • Knowledge of Build-Ops platform desired but not required. • Strong interpersonal communication skills. • Ability to work efficiently and identify inefficiencies in work processes. • High level of reliability, follow-through, discretion and integrity. • Must possess proactive, positive problem-solving skills. • Must be an energetic and enthusiastic collaborative team player. • Excellent communication skills both written and oral. • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. • Must maintain a company vehicle. • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a daily basis • Must be able to climb up and down Scaffolding, Ladders, Stairs as job requires. • U.S. citizenship or a current, valid U.S. work permit is mandatory • Applicants must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license. • A background verification and motor vehicle check will be required. • A pre-employment post-offer Human Performance Examination is required for this position. HVAC Facilities Mechanical Technician - 1st Shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)

Description: Primary Duties to include but not limited to: • Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on commercial HVAC systems • Perform maintenance in all facility areas including electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC systems • Light maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles to include cars, vans, trucks, lifts, floor machines, tractors, etc. • Identifying, troubleshooting and resolving problems with HVAC systems, often requiring knowledge of electrical and mechanical schematics. • Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Yearly inspection of building systems. Emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, fire systems and any systems as directed by Facilities Supervisor. • Operate scissor lift and boom lifts. Work at ceiling heights running facility cabling, wiring and camera installations. • Perform landscaping and snow removal. • Operate and test facility generators and fire pumps • Occasional operation of forklifts to support the material handling of used cardboard, pallets, and other recyclables as directed by Facilities Lead or Manager • Occasional support of cleaning and maintaining all Schluter facility areas including restrooms and outdoor areas as directed by Facilities Lead or Manager as required.. Key Competencies: • Experience in electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, and HVAC operations and repairs • Able to read electrical and mechanical schematics • Proficient in Microsoft software a plus. Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint a plus. • General carpentry skills and use of common hand tools • Experience in fire suppression and security systems • Experience in Automated Building Management Systems. Communication Skills: • The ability to communicate effectively with internal team members, external vendors and contractors. • Communicate findings and recommendation to Manager, Lead or contractors in a clear and concise manner is important for effective decision-making.
