HVAC Technician/Installer

HVAC Technicians/Installers must be mechanically inclined individuals with some experience in the construction trade. It is required that you are able to work on your own as well as apart of a team to finish task and help jobs move smoothly. A working knowledge of rooftop units, ductless split systems, commercial and residential equipment, ducting systems, thermostats and controls, etc. is preferred. This position will include demo and install of HVAC equipment and duct systems on commercial properties as well as some residential properties. Must have your own transportation and a valid driver's license. Job Title: Refrigeration Service Technician Principal Duties and Responsibilities • The Refrigeration Service Technician is responsible for the operations, repairs, replacement, and preventative maintenance of commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment. • Must have a working knowledge of rack systems, walk-in coolers and freezers, ice machines, reach-in coolers and freezers, and basic HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, exhaust fans, make-up air units and associated electrical equipment. • Ability to diagnose and repair refrigeration equipment to include: • Strong understanding of the refrigeration circuit • Understand superheating and subcooling. • Hot gas circuits and operations • CPR’s EPR’s and head pressure control valves (ORI, OROA, LAC) • TXV/Orifice operations • Ability to perform leak checks (electronically and pressurized) • Ability to solder, braze, and pipe fit. • Understand reciprocating compressor operation. • Use different types of compressor oils. • Understand electrical circuits and processors. • Defrost clocks. • Defrost heaters. • Contactors • Relays • CPC Processors • Technicians will be familiar with all refrigeration equipment and all refrigerants. • Work with the Dispatch Team to ensure that the workload is accomplished in a complete and timely manner. • The individual must maintain safe work practices in support of the OSHA Health & Safety and NFPA 70e standards as it applies when performing the assigned duties. Job Specifications(incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.) • High School Diploma or GED • 5 years of experience in maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment, along with a current Universal CFC certification • Strong oral and written communication required. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas. • Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments. • Ability to stand, sit, or squat for extended periods of time. • Ability to lift, move, and carry material up to 50 lbs. • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at extended heights. • Ability to operate scissors and boom lifts • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). i.e., but not limited to, Dust mask, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection. • Working knowledge of desktop computers and Internet-based programs • A company uniform will be issued, and a neat personal appearance will be required. • This position will require a background check and drug screening. • Valid Driver’s license and able to maintain a good driving record. HVAC/R Technician

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the HVAC-R maintenance and/or repair, of a variety of specialized equipment in an assigned group of 7-Eleven (family of brands) stores within a geographic area. Service calls are initiated from the store via 7Help work orders to appropriate technician. Position reports to the Area Facilities Manager. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: • Job responsibilities and qualifications may be superseded by local, state, or federal regulations • Responds to work orders for a wide variety of in-store equipment which include, but may not be limited to minor repairs of HVAC, minor repairs to refrigeration, cold beverage equipment (ex. tea, fountain, FBD, FCB, creamer machine), fountain/backroom ice makers • Responds to work orders related to plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance issues • Completes preventative and basic maintenance tasks on structures and other equipment including, but not limited to dispensers, point of sale (POS), computers, security equipment, telephone and data lines, heating and air conditioning systems, refrigeration equipment, lighting, signs, and pumps as required • Responsible for replacing ‘plug and play’ equipment as needed • Schedules and prioritizes duties and work assignments on a daily basis • Minor repairs to equipment (such as hoses, nozzles, fuel filters, decals, HVAC filters, water filters, etc.) as needed • Responsible for ordering and management of parts inventory for truck • Completes required reports and paperwork daily to account for the time and use of parts and materials • Observes and inspects equipment to determine if servicing or further action is required • Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to job • Knowledge of refrigerant recovery and safe disposal of refrigerant • Ability to perform preventative maintenance according to published guidelines • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedure • Working knowledge of HVAC/associated system employing computer-based monitoring and control devices • Knowledge of mechanical or electrical equipment, plumbing, utilities, distribution systems, and controls, including maintenance and troubleshooting • Ability to use computer-based monitoring/control devices in maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC systems • Working analytical and problem-solving skills • Assign work to and oversees the work of direct service providers in the HVAC trade • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions • Establish and maintain cooperative work relationships • Assist with training of lesser experienced techs as needed • Work independently and under minimal supervision • Knows how to braze refrigerant lines and components safely and properly • Completes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by management EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION: High School/GED Preferred YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 1+ years YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: NA CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: EPA 608 (Type I, II, or Universal) Certification SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: • Show Leadership (Practice Leadership skills Daily) • Peer to Peer Tech support • Effective communication • Projects/Stretch assignments • Facility location ownership Ability to lead the team (meetings, projects…) Pay: $20.00 - $37.00 Hourly If an hourly or salary range is included in this ad it represents the range 7-Eleven in good faith believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
