Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Strictly Mechanical is currently looking for Service Technicians to join our Conyers, GA office. Our Service Technicians are responsible for providing the highest level of technical ability, quality, value, and integrity to our customers. He or she would be responsible for diagnosing various service issue, obtaining any replacement parts, calibrate system(s) to manufacturer's specifications, and effectively communicate findings and solutions to the customer and our front office. Service Technicians must be proficient in reading schematics and work plans. He or she must also have working knowledge of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating. Qualified candidates will have: • A high school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED). • A vocational/technical diploma from an accredited HVAC program or have completed an apprenticeship program. (REQUIRED) • A valid driver's license. (REQUIRED) • 5 + years of HVAC field experience (REQUIRED) • EPA certification. (REQUIRED) • NATE certification (highly desirable but not required) The following are some of the duties which may be required of you as a Service Technician. Duties are assigned based on the requirements of the job and not all may be applicable. • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling on commercial HVAC systems. • Travel to job sites in a service area and work with the dispatcher to ensure the schedule is maintained. • Document details of service(s) and part(s) provided to the customers electronically through a company-provided cellphone. • Maintain good working order of company fleet, equipment, and electronics. • Maintain stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle. • Participate in company-provided training opportunities. • Be available to work nights, weekends, or on a rotating basis, to serve emergency needs for our customers. Position Type: Maintenance/Transportation/HVAC Tech Date Posted: 8/20/2025 Location: Maintenance/Facilities - 8051 Date Available: Immediate Position: H.V.A.C. Tech Job Location: 3255 Montgomery Drive, Gainesville GA, 30504 Employment Type: Full Time Each Technician shall be responsible for the following: Duties & Job Function: I. The Technician is required to meet with all outside contractors to direct and aid the contractor during the job, and also the Technician will report back to the Foreman on the status and completion of the job. 2. It will be the technician's responsibility to maintain an inventory of parts and materials at the shop. If the inventory is low, the Technician will need to inform the Foreman so parts can be ordered. 3. The Technician will need to walk the roofs of their schools to check for vandalism, operation of equipment, blown off panels, and any unsafe conditions to the building. The boiler rooms will need to be checked as well. No gasoline cleaning or buffing machines are allowed in any mechanical room. 4. If any vehicle is driven home, please be available to go out to a school for any emergency call for heating and air, such as busted water lines, power failure, tornado damage, etc., also if you drive a vehicle home, start at your school's first thing in the morning by reviewing any problems on the computer. Report any issues to the supervisor. ONLY come to the shop when needed, such as picking up parts or equipment. Qualifications Required: Valid driver's license. Driver must maintain insurability while employed. Must be able to pass a background check. Two years of Technical School degree or apprentice school training, EPA - CFC Certification. Ability to interpret wire diagrams, blueprints, and sequence of operations. Ability to work standing for extended periods of time. Proper lifting & or pushing of objects up to 75 pounds. Ability to follow instructions and communicate both written and verbally. Meet schedules and timelines daily while following all health and safety regulations.
