Job Summary Repairs and maintains air handling units, commercial kitchen equipment, variable air volume boxes, fan coil units, refrigeration equipment, packaged air conditioning/heating equipment, exhaust fans, pneumatic controlled thermostats, compressed air systems and other hospital electrical and mechanical equipment. Be the difference. • Responsible for performing both unscheduled and preventive maintenance related mechanical repairs to include packaged A/C and heating equipment, air handling units, pneumatically controlled thermostat systems, fan coil units, variable air volume boxes, and other mechanical equipment comprising the hospital’s mechanical utility system. • Responsible for assisting other trades within the department with repairs to include pump replacements, repairs to commercial kitchen equipment, plumbing supply and drainage piping systems, and other related systems comprising the hospital’s mechanical utility system. • Responds to emergency calls and assists qualified technicians and other trained professionals on ETO gas Med Gas/Vacuum leaks, Power outages, HVAC, Plumbing, fire response, etc. Must demonstrate proficiency in all mechanical related tasks in order to participate in the call-back program • Maintains assigned equipment in a safe and orderly manner and responds to emergency calls. Performs PM duties to all assigned equipment and enters information into appropriate work order system. • Responsible for completing work orders in complete and timely manner to include all housekeeping duties when work is complete. Ensure work is performed with the utmost awareness for safety and hygiene. Also, ensure proper lockout Tagout procedures are being followed. • Responsible for troubleshooting and making repairs to variable speed drives and other building control systems within the hospital. Must be proficient with troubleshooting with a multi-meter (voltmeter, current meter, refrigerant gauges, and other mechanical test and measurement instruments. • Responsible for performing repairs and maintenance to the hospital’s vacuum and medical gas components and distribution systems. • Responsible for maintaining low- and high-pressure steam components and steam piping systems. This includes the capability of making repairs to steam strainers, steam traps, and other steam related steam components. • Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. Minimum Requirements • Education - High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned. Trade school for HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and electronic DDC control preferred • Experience - Three (3) years HVAC/Mechanical experience In Lieu Of • NA Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses • A valid driver’s license; an acceptable motor vehicle record, as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart; and proof of auto insurance. • Federal Recovery Certificate, Air Conditioning license preferred • Mechanical License preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Basic computer skills • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier) • Mathematical skills • Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical control related repairs to packaged air conditioning/heating units, commercial air handling units, commercial kitchen equipment, and VAV mechanical and electrical failures. • Capable of installing ductwork, packaged A/C units, exhaust fans, VAV boxes, fan coil units, and other mechanical equipment in support of facility renovations or new construction activities. • Working knowledge of Controls Software (ex.
