HVAC Technician, Assoc Position Overview: Duties: • Responsible for preforming HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting and repair tasks safely in commercial and industrial settings on various types of split systems, packaged rooftop units, heat pumps, pneumatic, electrical control systems, and other mechanical equipment including desiccant dehumidification/ humidification. • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently. • Diagnose and repair systems with meticulous attention to detail. • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems. • Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services. • Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions. • Installs, programs, and calibrates HVAC control systems. • Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned. • Maintain effective communication with higher-level HVAC Technicians and supervisor. Job Knowledge and Educational Requirements: • Job knowledge requires vocational or similar training, including basic shop math to aid in the interpretation and the utilization of data from engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications and procedures. • Knowledge of shop routines and practices is preferred. • Basic knowledge of personal computers, including operating systems and file management is required. • High school diploma preferred; candidates with the ability to obtain an accredited GED are encouraged to apply. Experience: Level I • Minimum one (1) year experience in all phases of HVAC commercial/ industrial experience. Level II • Minimum two (2) to six (6) years' of experience in all phases of HVAC commercial/ industrial experience. Level III Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in all phases of HVAC commercial/ industrial experience. • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered. • Proficient with operation and design of HVAC Systems, Building Automation Systems, and/or Temperature Controls required. • Previous background in programming, commissioning, and startup of HVAC systems • Georgia State Conditioned Air Contractor Class II (unrestricted) license General Physical Requirements: • Lifting, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, grasping, holding, reaching, pushing, and pulling are generally required to perform the functions of this position
