Facilities, HVAC Mechanic

Reports to: Maintenance Manager Job Summary: The HVAC Mechanic is responsible for fabrication, assembling, installing and maintaining refrigeration, cooling, and heating systems and their components following blueprints and schematic drawings. Procedures for the purposes of maintaining said services to the buildings and facilities of the Casino. Essential Functions: • Ensure compliance with the applicable Tribal, Federal and other laws and gaming regulations and Kickapoo Lucky Eagle policies and procedures. • Ensure the highest possible standards of guest services by properly listening and responding to guest and team member concerns and questions. • May work from manufacturer specifications inspecting and testing electrical and signal circuits. • May perform repairs or modifications to compressors, motors, condensers, fans, thermostats, ducts, pipes and other mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment and/or systems. • Will disassemble mechanical or electrical machinery, equipment and or systems to retrofit or replace all ancillary components as required. • Will check clearances, voltages and perform ampere measuring as required prior to bringing any equipment/system back into service. • Assist by transporting materials and tools by hand, dolly or truck. Make repairs, clean, lubricate and store maintenance tools and equipment. • Observe mechanical devices, pumps, engines, motors, refrigeration/air conditioning systems in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. • Repair or replace defective parts. • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments and may install special functional and structural parts. • Lubricate and clean parts. • Start devices to test their performance. • Keep records for equipment and comply with the Work Order software. • All work will be in accordance with established policies and procedure of the NEC, NFPA, NAPE. • Obtain ability to use wrenches, electric drills, pipe cutters and benders, acetylene torches, hammers and various other hand/power tools. • Obtain ability to read Amp meters, Ohmmeters, test lamps, voltmeters, watt meters, thermometers and manometers, refrigerant gauges, vacuum pumps, refrigerant scales and refrigerant recycle/recovery equipment. • May work independently, may work with electricians, engineers, plumbers or duct work/sheet metal workers. • Demonstrate and promote KLECH core values. • Manage and maintain security of confidential information entrusted to position. • Attend and satisfactorily complete all required training as assigned. • Monitor compliance with Federal currency transaction reporting requirements, Title 31 requirements and IRS Currency Transaction Reports and property established Anti-Money Laundering policies. Minimum Requirements to Qualifications: • Must have a High School Diploma or GED. • Minimum two (2) years' of experience in general maintenance or other maintenance responsibility that would include the ability to recognize electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failure. • Minimum two (2) years' experience in HVAC mechanical maintenance repair work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide the following: thorough knowledge of practices, tools and equipment associated with one or more trades such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or related filed. • Knowledge of mechanical operation and use of variety of tools, pneumatics and control systems. • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and opportunities to revise. • Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills. • Strong communication skills in English both written and oral. Spanish or other language skills a plus. Other Criteria: Qualified Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas Members and qualified Native American preference is observed.
