Responsibilities: • Provide the highest level of technical ability, quality, value, and integrity to our customers • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration units for commercial customers. • Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems • Travel to job sites in service area and work with dispatcher to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer • Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers • Maintain good working order of company vehicle, equipment, and electronics • Maintain stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle • Document details of services and parts provided to customers electronically through iPad applications • Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and be able to explain need for and value of recommended solutions • Participate in company-provided training opportunities • Identify and report potential opportunities for additional business (new unit/ system, PM contracts, and additional services) Education and Experience: • High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent • 2+ years of recent HVAC/R Technician field experience • Must live within 30 miles of location of position listed • Valid driver's license • EPA Certificate • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans • Knowledge with advance principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills • Basic computer skills for iPad and cell phone communication and documentation • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays - if needed Physical Requirements: • Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and/or talking • Able to alternate between standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching • Able to operate an iPad, cell phone, computer and/or other office/work-related machinery • Able to stand for extended periods • Able to travel as needed on daily basis • Able to lift up to 100 lbs. • Regularly requires climbing • Occasionally able to work in office environment, as needed

Key Responsibilities: • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical malfunctions and making recommendations • Performing regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units • Installing, replacing, or repairing equipment; including the need to calibrate thermostatic controls; worn heating, ventilation and air-conditioning parts and equipment; repair or replace low- and high-pressure liquid lines etc. • Assembling and installing metal ductwork • Assisting in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems • Providing estimates of materials required • Repairing and replacing damaged parts and equipment • Reading blueprints, floor plans and wiring diagrams • Reading and interpreting City, State, and EPA regulations • Establishing and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives • Safely operating company vehicles, machinery, and equipment • Recognizing risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations, and implementing appropriate controls to ensure safe work; collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environments • Identify situations that require escalation or elevation to Supervisor or Manager for guidance or need to request additional support • Regularly rig and properly set up gantry for safely lifting equipment, overhauling pumps, chillers etc. • Participating in all required safety training and actively carry all state or national required licensing. Required Qualifications: As a journeyman, you understand the importance of providing expert and quality service. HVAC Technician

OPEN UNTIL FILLED PRIMARY PURPOSE: To perform skilled mechanical and electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment and related duties. To help maintain the physical school plans in the condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED, required HVAC Certificate/Associate (EPA Type I and II or Universal Certified), required Clear driving record, required Valid Texas driver’s Class C license, required Special Knowledge/Skills: Speak, read and write fluently in English and Spanish Ability to accurately interpret plans, prints, specifications and schematics associated with trades Knowledge of practices, procedures, work methods and equipment used in HVAC and electrical work Ability to inspect, troubleshoot and repair all types of HVAC DX chill water equipment Knowledge of International Mechanical Code Experience: Three (3) years of experience in a related field, required Workdays: 242 Auxiliary Pay Structure: Pay Grade 7 Pay Date: Monthly Hourly Pay Range: Minimum: $18.65 Midpoint: $22.20 Maximum: $25.75 Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Work effectively and efficiently to perform the operational and maintenance tasks of assigned campuses following the guidelines of quality standards, operating objectives and goals of the HVAC Department. 2. Analyze, diagnose and repair system malfunctions or failures. 3. Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for assigned campuses. 4. Responsible for a variety of skilled and semi-skilled mechanical preventive maintenance duties. 5. Replace and/or install air-conditioning equipment to meet safety codes. 6. Maintain an inventory of HVAC equipment tools and supplies. 7. Record all equipment repairs and refrigerant use in air-conditioning units. 8. Perform minor electrical related tasks in the servicing of HVAC equipment. 9. Replace air filters in air conditioning equipment. 10. Estimate cost of repairs in terms of materials. 11. Replace and re-wire motors, compressors, temperature controls, disconnects and motor starters. 12. Install new ductwork as needed. 13. Verify that all daily work orders are completed, signed and returned to the HVAC Department. 14. Attend meetings and trainings as required or directed by immediate supervisor. 15. Prepare reports on all daily activities performed. 16. Is productive at all times and takes initiative in correcting HVAC equipment concerns. 17. Respond to after-hour emergency calls in the evenings and/or weekends. 18. Promote a safe working environment and ensures that equipment and vehicle are in good operating condition. 19. Work outside of regular assigned work schedule to include extra-curricular functions and to repair/replace needed facilities that may involve night and/or weekend duty as requested. 20. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards. 21. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
