HVAC Technician

We are currently seeking experienced technicians to join our National Projects, Regional Projects, and Service teams. Our crews work locally in various locations or travel to project sites throughout the country. A large volume of our work is located in Southern Arizona. We also have active work opportunities throughout the rest of Arizona, Texas, and elsewhere. Much of our work is federal, so employees sometimes have the opportunity to earn prevailing wages (Davis Bacon Act) based on their location. Responsibilities. • Take charge of all assigned work and maintain a sense of ownership of all scope on-site • Walk the site in an observed manner, taking note of hazards and, when appropriate, correcting them accordingly • Develop an awareness of the entire project to include other trade work • Communicate with fellow crew members, assigned foreman, and with public, customers, or adjacent trade crews when necessary • Install, maintain, repair, replace, test, and commission HVAC equipment Requirements. • EPA Certification to handle refrigerant, preferably EPA Universal

HVAC/Plant Ops Assistant

Category: Plant Operations Department: Plant Operations Status: Full Time Description: Academic Preparation: • High School diploma or equivalent required. • HVAC Technician Certification Job Summary: The HVAC Assistant is responsible for assisting HVAC Technician and Plant Operation manager with installation of HVAC Equipment, including ductwork, piping and electrical connections. The individual will assist in maintenance and repair of existing system by performing tasks such as cleaning, lubrication and replacing components. HVAC Assistant may help with basic troubleshooting and diagnostics under the guidance of the HVAC Technician and Plant Operations Manager learning to identify and address common issues. The individual will also be responsible for assisting in Plant Operations day to day operations of the hospital’s facilities and maintenance department to ensure the smooth functions of the hospitals physical plant and related equipment, while also adhering to safety and regulatory standards. The HVAC Assistant will report directly to the Plant Operations Manager. Specific Responsibilities: • Assist the HVAC Technician and/or Plant Operations Manager with installation, service, troubleshooting and repairs including but not limited to; chillers, air handling units, controls, package units, split systems, exhaust fans, refrigerators, freezers, hot/chilled water pumps. Involvement in Site’s predictive maintenance program so previous experience is highly desirable. • Assist for conducting scheduled PMs to include, but not limited to; cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services. • Assist with logging/tracking PMs to ensure inspections/maintenance are completed timely • Assist in conducting performance testing with specialized tools and adjust system settings to ensure they function properly under different settings, such as cooling at the maximum value. • Assist in observing mechanical devices, pumps, engines, motors, refrigeration/air conditioning systems in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. • Assists with recording equipment/supply inventory to include equipment type, model number, date of installation, and extent of service • Must be able to read Amp Meters, ohmmeters, test lamp, voltmeter, wattmeter, thermometer and manometer, Refrigerant gauges, vacuum pumps, and refrigerant scales and refrigerant recycle/recovery equipment. • Responsible for staying current with HVAC regulatory requirements • Charges refrigeration systems with refrigerant gas tests for leaks. • Responsible for ensuring adherence/compliance with safety and regulatory standards. • Responsible for following established fire safety policies and procedures • Refers to MSDSs when Necessary • Required to be in “On Call” rotation. • Performs a variety of duties in/around the buildings and grounds of the hospital/clinic and other duties as assigned. Experience and/or level of competency: • Ability to perform most complex and unusual tasks of the craft without supervision. • Ability to perform work of the craft in a rapid and efficient manner under extreme conditions. • Must be able to pass a local background. • Valid Driver License required with a good driving record.
