As an HVAC Technician, you will perform service and maintenance tasks on commercial and / or industrial HVAC equipment. Compensation aspects of the role are dependent upon knowledge, skills and experience. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Perform assigned HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting task safely in commercial and industrial settings. • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of commercial HVAC equipment as needed. • Diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components. • Service, diagnose and troubleshoot various types of split systems, packaged rooftop, rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, pneumatic, electrical control systems, and other mechanical equipment. • Diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components. • Use your HVAC skills and experience to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medium to large sized complex heating and cooling systems and associated control systems, ranging from 3 tons to 1280 tons. • Complete required electronic documentation daily on a handheld device • Work independently, and as part of a team, to complete assigned tasks within an allotted time frame. • Operate company vehicle to complete service calls in a specified territory. • Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned. Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications • 3 or more years of experience repairing and troubleshooting commercial HVAC/R equipment preferred. • EPA universal certification preferred. • Experience with RTU, air handlers, split systems, chilled water, or boiler systems, preferred. • OSHA 10 certification preferred. HVAC Technician II

Amentum seeks an HVAC Technician II in Corinth, MS. • Typical work schedule: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm. Hours may vary based on business demand. • Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation. Job Summary Maintain company buildings and facilities in a functional condition. Duties include electrical repairs or installations, welding, machine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance (Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning or HVAC and sheet metal). Responsibilities: • Complete non-routine tasks under minimal supervision. • Resolve most problems and refer complex issues to higher levels. • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and perform required actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc. • Utilize hand and portable power tools. • Install minor modifications when needed. • Assist in orienting and training lower-level employees. • Perform repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities, equipment, fixtures, and systems. • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility systems. • Work based on dispatched service or daily/weekly schedules. • Review work to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc). • Assist in moving furniture, materials, and equipment as required. • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. • Work with or oversee subcontractor activities as directed by supervisor or work schedule. • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude is required, as is the ability to work safely around 3-phase power up to and including 480V. • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Requirements: • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent. • Two years of experience in area of specialization. Additional Information: • Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. • This position may require a valid Driver's License. • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location. • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules. Physical Requirements: • Lift regularly up to 50 lbs. • Climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift. • Bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift. • Kneel repetitive for shift. • Move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift. • Stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift. • Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift. • Use a Company/Client approved utility knife. • Differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding. • Repetitive wrist movement. • Interact with clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. Special Requirements: • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. • Cope with demands (stressors) associated with the job and/or work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
