Summary: Performs skilled installations, repairs, maintenance and inspection of electrical distribution systems, standby power systems including generators and switchgear, electrical fixtures and related equipment. Also performs installation, inspection, testing, preventive maintenance and minor repairs on other equipment and systems, as needed. Will perform general maintenance activities on the building and on equipment, as needed. Responsibilities: 1. Performs skilled work of a licensed electrician to include, but not limited to: Load tests generators at all NHCS facilities, Performs preventive maintenance on all generators and assigned equipment, Adds receptacles, lights and switches as needed, at all NHCS facilities, -Keeps exterior pole lights working (short and tall poles) in all areas, and installs new ones as needed, Makes electrical repairs on equipment in all areas, Maintains the pneumatic tube system, Wires and maintains exterior signs, -Locates underground lines, Use Plant Services energy management software, Utilize CMMS for Work Requests and PM's 2. Performs installation, maintenance and repairs on facility, equipment and systems, as needed, and as determined competent to include, but not limited to: Installs or makes repairs on pumps, engines, motors, conveyor systems and laboratory equipment, Performs general maintenance such as painting, adding chemicals to boiler, changing gas tanks, refueling vehicles, patching holes, fixing leaky fixtures, unclogging commodes, and changing filters, belts, locks, ballast, light bulbs and ceiling tiles, Installs, inspects and tests fire extinguishers and fire alarm systems, Performs basic carpentry such as putting up sheet rock and shelving, Assists licensed maintenance mechanics with, and/or performs, repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boiler, pneumatic, irrigation, sprinkler and sterilizing systems, Utilizes CMMS for track and documenting work requests and PM's 3. Performs preventive maintenance, inspections and instrument readings on equipment, machines, systems and facility, as assigned, and as determined competent. 4. Provides for the safety of self and others. 5. Promotes positive relations. 6. Uses and maintains equipment, tools, materials and supplies. 7. Performs other duties, as needed to include, but not limited to: Installing seasonal lighting on NGH Tower, Helps maintain decorative fountains, Helps maintain well system and keeps heat in pump house, Checks fuel levels in all tanks, Performs inclement weather details, employee and visitor vehicles, as needed, Moves furniture, file cabinets, etc., Cleans equipment room or other areas, Picks up trash, Cleans out incinerator, Cleans roof tops and roof drains. Other information: Education Requirements: • High school graduate or GED. • Completion of vocational training curriculum for electricians. • Associate’s degree or higher in electrical engineering is preferred. Licensure/Certifications: • Licensed as an Electrician through the State Department of Labor or eligible in 1 year. Professional Experience Requirements: • 2 years’ experience in Operations-Electrician in a commercial setting. • Experience in healthcare electrical systems and codes is preferred.
