Journeyman Electrician

Work Location: Rocky Mount, NC, 159 Fabrication Way 7:00-4:00 (Occasional Overtime) The Combustion Test & Development Engineer is responsible for all activities associated with assigned Combustion Burner Test & Development projects. He/she will conduct tests, accurately compile and analyze recorded data; and recommend additional testing if needed. Implement burner and/or components improvements; present recommendations and conclusions to engineering team. Description/Job Summary: • Install, repair and maintain electrical equipment, including appliances and systems manufactured by Babington. • Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electrical devices and systems. • Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials, and principles of operation of electrical equipment. • Service equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, wiring, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices. • Analyze and correct electrical problems; repair and overhaul electrical equipment including controls. • Knowledge of High Voltage systems • Able to train an electrician’s helper and lead others wiring systems. Licensure/Certification: • Journeyman Electrician license issued Experience: • Attention to detail • Minimum of five years of recent expertise as a journeyman electrician • Vocational school or junior college training in electrical wiring, or satisfactory completion of in-house apprenticeship training. • Knowledge of A/C - D/C controls, motors, generators, and switchboards. • Knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and instruments associated with the position • Must possess a high degree of precision working with minimum tolerances. • Possess a high degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to others when responsible for the flow of electrical power.
