Ability to work in restricted areas such as (switchgear rooms, underground electrical vaults, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attic spaces). Employee must wear all proper personal protective equipment at all times as required for the specific job duties. Skill Level: Positively identify colors of wires, comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics of same. Able to accurately make bends in conduit utilizing a hand bender or mechanical bender. Must be familiar with and have the ability to use all power tools, saws, conduit threading machines, wire pullers and knockout punches. Capable of digging trenches either by hand or with power equipment. Operate equipment such as backhoe’s, trenchers, lift trucks and excavators. Must adhere to company safety regulations, haz-com policy and lockout-tagout policy. Must be able to operate two handed tools/equipment such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools and jack hammers. Must be able to read and follow jobsite specific directions, specifications, instructional manuals and blueprints. Must be able to work from an aerial lift. Must be able to supervise jobsite employees such as other electricians and/or apprentice’s to complete an assigned project. Physical Function: Ability to lift 75 pounds. Climb Ladders of all types and sizes. Ability to perform overhead work for full day assignments. Must be able to gain employee access to jobsites. Possess good vision either normally or corrected. NCCER Certification preferred. Four years of direct personal experience working trade as a Licensed Residential and Commercial Electrician. Two years of experience teaching and/or training students or apprentices in the electrical trade a plus but not a rigid requirement. Ability to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom; must be able to use the technology required for the assigned course. Prior postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 1 year in subject matter is highly preferred but not an absolute requirement. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
