Journeyman or Master Electrician

Private company seeking Journeyman or Master Electrician for a fast paced position with significant opportunity for growth. Candidates must have a clean 3-year motor vehicle record. There is no interaction with traditional customers for this job. Most work is performed M-F during business hours, however, emergency work is required as needed. Summary As a Journeyman or Master Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems primarily on the Interstate Highway. Your core skills in using hand tools, voltmeters, and understanding the National Electrical Code (NEC) will be essential for ensuring compliance and safety. With premium experience in programmable logic controllers and both commercial and industrial electrical work, you will lead projects from blueprint reading to execution. Your relevant skills in high voltage systems and construction/maintenance site operations will further enhance our team's capabilities in delivering high-quality electrical solutions. This position reports to the Area Operations Manager and includes activities as assigned. Responsibilities • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in compliance with NEC standards. • Utilize hand tools, voltmeters, and ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues. • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics for electrical installations. • Collaborate with construction/maintenance teams on renovation projects, ensuring safety and efficiency. • Provide guidance to junior electricians and assist in training as needed. • Ensure all work meets high-quality standards and adheres to safety regulations. • Work with the client/owner on meeting contract goals. Job Summary and Qualifications A Journeyman Electrician is a skilled worker who is an expert at working with any manner of electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. As a Journeyman Electrician, their responsibilities and duties include installing new electrical systems, as well as maintaining and repairing existing ones. Journeyman Electrician are experts on electrical equipment, lock-out/tag-out processes and all electrical systems in the hospital environment including emergency generators and emergency power supply systems. They may train and direct Electrical Technicians and Electrical Apprentices on their way to becoming Journeyman Electricians. Must be able to work on weekends and evenings and participate in an on-call rotation. What you will do in this role: • Inspects and tests electrical lighting, power circuits, and other related equipment. • Removes and replaces defective wiring and conduits. Tests circuits to comply with safety regulations. • Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using instruments such as ammeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter, growler, etc. • Replaces faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, and other simple elements of electrical systems, fixtures, and appliances. • Installs new pipe, wiring, and electrical equipment. • Removes and installs motors, transformers, lighting fixtures or other equipment and completes circuits according to diagram specifications. • Assembles, installs, and connects components to switchboards and distribution panels and connects them to units controlled. • Fastens fixtures, switches, and outlet boxes in position. Runs wire through conduit and makes connections to complete circuits. • Estimates the quantities of materials needed to complete work assignments and requisitions them properly. • Performs required preventive maintenance and emergency repairs in a complete and timely manner. • Conform to regulatory testing and inspections requirements on emergency power systems including emergency generators and automatic transfer switches. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Electrician to oversee electrical installations and maintenance on construction sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical systems, including high and low voltage applications, and will demonstrate expertise in blueprint reading and schematic interpretation. As a Lead Electrician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.
