Electrical Apprentice

Job Summary Futures Electrical is a small family owned business who value there employees. We are looking for new members to join our team as we grow. Apprentice's will be responsible for assisting electrician with installing and maintaining of electrical power systems. Work will be on various commercial construction sites around Central Florida. Pay rate will be based on experience. We require and pay for our apprentice to attend the F.E.A.T. School. Primary responsibilities including but not limited to: • Assist in installing electrical systems. • Assist in installing voice and data systems. • Assist in installing lighting, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers. • Assist in installing and pulling wires through conduit leading to connection boxes, switch panels, and other terminals. • Use tools such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, and wire strippers. • Replace faulty circuit breakers, fuses, switches, and wire. • Assist in Replacing old fuse boxes. • Hook up appliances for power. • Install new lighting and ceiling fans. • Consult with Forman or lead electrician before performing installations. • Assist in Rewiring of homes and businesses. • MUST have your own transportation to get to job sites. • MUST have your own tools. Job Description This key position performs skilled electrical repairs and preventive maintenance duties in an industrial plant environment, major building complex. Installs, troubleshoots and repairs new and existing controls and instrumentation to upgrade and update equipment including incoming electrical services. Troubleshoot and repairs variable frequency drives and other motor controls. Work on equipment and/or building support systems while ensuring adherence to safety procedures/protocols. Work is performed with considerable independence under the supervision of a designated supervisor. Performance is reviewed through inspection, reports, meetings and results achieved. Representative Duties /Assignments Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties; it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs: controls and heavy industrial electrical equipment including drives, generators, large horsepower motors up to 1,000 HP; lift stations, fuses, breakers and contactors; control systems equipped with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) using ladder logic diagrams and electrical schematics. Supervises, trains and participates in the installation of low and medium voltage wiring, lights, switches and equipment required to maintain a safe working area or for the restoration of communications systems. Manages arc flash compliance programs and safety protocols in a live environment. Operates, maintains, updates and repairs sophisticated electrical power distribution controls. Performs electrical preventative maintenance on motors in accordance with manufacturers¿ specifications, which may require the removal of hot oils, greases and other liquids. Refills or replaces all items to maintain the integrity of the electric motors and the related equipment. Oversees the proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Ensures and promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Interprets Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) / PLC logic which involves reading and understanding logic and data trends used in troubleshooting equipment. Utilizes a work order management system to capture and record electrical failures, views historical data, report time and resources expended to complete work orders. Prepares detailed scope of work requirements for work requiring utilization of outside contractors. Provides review and input of term contracts for UP systems, electrical maintenance, repair, testing and diagnostic services as well as electrical related projects, schematics, plans and drawings. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications State certified or State registered with Orange County as a Master Electrician, or eight (8) years of technical electrical work experience in a commercial or industrial environment. Six (6) years of training and graduation from a vocational school or program may be substituted for six (6) years of experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver¿s License.
