The Estimator will work with a team to complete the due diligence necessary to estimate the cost of work associated with electrical construction projects. The Estimator will also oversee the client bid submittal process. This position can be based in our Rockford, IL, Scottsdale, AZ, Indianapolis, IN, Benicia, CA or McLeansville, NC offices. Responsibilities: • Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned projects • Complete pre-construction survey and other preliminary documents • Perform majority of quantity surveys and pricing estimates • Complete general conditions • Prepare vendor proposal comparison and estimate summary sheets • Conduct plan review • Obtain applicable wage rates • Coordinate with others the completion of the proposal • Develop and complete project schedule • Review and understand contract specifications, documents & drawings to preform takeoff’s accurately • Critically analyze each aspect of the estimate to ensure a competitive bid • Stay apprised of industry standard software including researching and reviewing new technologies to expedite the takeoff process • Communicate with Engineering Consultants and Designers to coordinate information digitally to complete takeoff’s • Develops presentation and submittal materials exhibits utilizing basic CAD and drafting • Occasional project site visits and pre-bid meeting attendance • Special projects as necessary • Assist with other estimating duties as assigned Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree desired (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
