Journeyman Electrician

Wood is currently hiring for a Journeyman Electrician for Atlas Carbon project located near Gillette, Wyoming. Our electricians do everything from light industrial to advanced controls. RESPONSIBILITIES Job Specifications: • Determine appropriate actions for work performed based on written, diagrammatic, and/or verbal instructions received • Determine causes of defective performance and make repairs as needed • Replace faulty wiring and electrical components such as relays, switches, motors, VFD's, printed circuit boards, position sensing devices and maintain electrical substation equipment • Maintain current technical knowledge of government and company policies, codes and regulations • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all electrical equipment • Responsible for following safety procedures and maintaining safety data • Adhere to all safety requirements, local NEC and NEC codes QUALIFICATIONS Technical/Business Skills, Experience and Training • Must have experience in the field/plant • Must meet all WY Licensing requirements for Journeyman Electrician • Current Wyoming journeyman license or be able to reciprocate is preferred • Must be comfortable with computer and configuration software • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug, back ground and fit tests before hiring.

About the position Responsibilities • Repair plant instrumentation and control systems under the direction of a maintenance supervisor. • Install, modify, adjust, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair AC and DC electrical power and auxiliary supply equipment. • Work with pneumatic and hydraulic sensing, measuring, and control equipment. • Perform general electrical work and manage data acquisition systems and control schemes in steam plant facilities. • Interpret drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams. • Direct and instruct trainees and helpers when assigned. Requirements • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Documented journeyman level experience and pass a written test demonstrating journeyman level knowledge. • Demonstrated academic courses in mathematics, electrical theory, and electronics. • Knowledge of plant control systems such as turbine control computer and plant computer monitoring systems. • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts when necessary. • Ability to test, repair, and calibrate plant instruments and controls. • Knowledge of computer software. • Ability to instruct and train apprentices in maintenance of plant instrumentation and control systems.
