Industrial Electrician

The Industrial Electrician installs new equipment, conduit, wiring and connection boxes per standards. Determines the parts required for proper installation and obtains them. Electrician will perform troubleshooting and repair of equipment with voltage ratings up to and including 600 volts. Performs general troubleshooting of lighting circuits. Replaces motion sensors, photo eyes and switches. Will clearly communicates with coworkers. Duties and Responsibilities • Follows safe work practices. Employee safety is the utmost important to us! • Follow all health & safety regulations including wearing appropriate protective equipment • Performs highly skilled electrical maintenance tasks including equipment installation • Repair and PM electrical machinery; this may include, but not limited to, such equipment as AC/DC motors, drives, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyors and instrumentation and PLC controls • In downtime situations, must be able to analyze cause of breakdown with equipment • Must also determine and complete maintenance repairs required to return the equipment to effective operating conditions • Follow and adhere to safety lockout procedures and strictly adhere to plant safety rules • Must be able to work independently, as well as in a group • Maintains a clean and organized work area • Maintain a healthy and safe environment • Performs other duties as assigned • Models company core values Required Skills & Experience • High school diploma or GED • Stable employment history with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Industrial Maintenance work AND/OR equivalent education to include vocational/technical school certificate/diploma • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, on-call and rotating shifts and holidays • Proficient in use of hand and power tools • Experience with reading electrical drawings and schematics • Troubleshooting experience, including the use of necessary test instruments such as digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, megger, etc. • Experience using a computer for record keeping and documentation • Able to work in extreme heat/cold, navigate catwalks and ladders • Physical ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, which includes climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping and bending • Ability to communicate effectively and constructively • Comprehension of complex work instructions and documentation • Ability to work with mathematical concepts in an industrial environment • Team oriented • Willing and able to learn new jobs and skills • A personal and total commitment to observe all safety rules and regulations including NEC and NFPA70E (including LOTO and Arc Flash) • Knowledge of DC motors and motor controls • Knowledge of AC motors and motor controls • Knowledge of DC, VFD, and servo drives • Knowledge of single phase and 3-phase power distribution systems • Knowledge of various process instrumentation, including pressure, flow, temperature, level, weight, etc. • Knowledge of PLC controls, HMI operator interfaces, and control systems networking • Working knowledge of basic industrial maintenance issues • Able to read and write in English • Able to follow written instructions • Able to clearly communicate with coworkers and Team Leader • Interpersonal skills to build relationships and interact with co-workers Preferred Skills & Experience • Knowledge of fire alarm and protection systems • Experienced in pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems • Excellent skills in root cause analysis • Previous experience in Rockwell Software RSLogix5000 and FactoryTalk View Studio (Editor, Me, and SE), AB PowerFlex VFD’s and Kinetics Servos, and Ethernet IP networks using AP Stratix switches, Yaskawa AC drives and servo drives, and Lense motion control drives. AutoCAD Electrical Technician - UL508A Panel Shop We are seeking a skilled AutoCAD Electrical Technician to join our automation team, responsible for designing and supporting the production of high-quality electrical control panels. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in electrical design using AutoCAD Electrical and a strong understanding of industrial control systems. While familiarity with UL508A standards is preferred, we are willing to provide training for the right candidate. This role requires collaboration with our panel shop and automation team to ensure designs meet specifications and deliver reliable, compliant solutions. Key Responsibilities • Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical. • Design UL508A-compliant control panels, ensuring adherence to relevant standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA 79). • Generate accurate bills of materials (BOM) and optimize panel layouts for space, heat dissipation, and accessibility. • Collaborate with panel shop teams to verify builds align with design specifications. • Perform or oversee functional testing, continuity checks, and quality assurance for completed panels. • Support field installations and troubleshoot issues during commissioning or post-delivery. • Maintain technical documentation, including assembly instructions, user manuals, and compliance reports. • Coordinate with vendors (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, Siemens) to source components and ensure compatibility. • Manage design revisions and maintain version control for drawings and schematics.
