Salary Information Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. **A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations** Nature of Work The fundamental reason this position exists is to perform intermediate level electrical tasks on City owned properties. The incumbent will be responsible for the installation of coaxial cables; repairs, replaces or installs a variety of electrical systems in city buildings and facilities; supervises and trains lower level Electricians; assists in the installation, maintenance and repair of ballfield lighting, electrical systems and equipment; performs other departmental administrative duties. The Electrician II receives supervision from the Mechanical Trades Supervisor. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D. and three (3) years of experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems. NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered. Special Requirements Must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license. Some positions in this classification may require possession of a valid Alabama Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) to drive a bucket truck. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to perform electrical related tasks in the case of special events and emergencies. Ability to be on-call as needed to respond to electrical related emergencies.
