See More Details >>Electrical Apprentices assist Electricians in the performance of electrical tasks such as pulling cable, installing devices, repairing electrical equipment, and reading blueprints. This position requires the apprentice to enroll in a 4-year Department of Labor (DOL) Registered Apprenticeship Program. Some travel will be required. Pay is dependent on experience. Essential Duties And Responsibilities • Works under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Electrician and must be able to demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment. Assists with materials handling, installation of materials, devices and equipment • Specific tasks include: • Identify and eliminate hazardous conditions at the job site • Maintain the job site in a safe, neat and orderly condition • Handle and stage materials, equipment and tools • Assist with layout, wire pulls and installation • May be required to operate heavy equipment • Assist with cable tray installations, device installations, and lighting connections • Receive On-the-job learning (OJL) as part of the apprenticeship program • Attend class & make satisfactory progress with apprenticeship program completion • Safely operate hand and power tools • Possess the ability to read and interpret instructions, maps, & manuals • Positive safety attitude and personal integrity • Legally operate company vehicles and equipment Working Conditions • Job requires working in all elements (rain, snow, heat, etc.) • Must keep work tools with them at all times (work belt, bag, etc.) • Use all types of ladders including step ladders up to 14’feet, “A” Frame and all size extension ladders and relocate a 12’ ladder by one’s self • Perform work at various heights, up to 90’ from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and cat walks and be able to work in restricted areas • Wear protective personal equipment (PPE) About Us MetroPower (www.metropower.com) serves the electrical construction & service needs of residential, industrial, institutional, and commercial communities throughout the United States.
