Overview THM Construction (dba The Handy Man) is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to lead a small construction team on various projects. This person will work on these jobs as well as overseeing & managing the crew on the project. These projects include full home remodels, room remodels, decks, fence building, etc. The ideal candidate will possess leadership abilities and a strong understanding of carpentry, construction and keeping the crew busy and productive. This candidate will use their knowledge & experience but still listen, continue to learn and complete work to code and in the manner as requested by the company. This role requires someone who can effectively communicate job site needs with the Foreman, management, ensure that project timelines are met, and maintain high-quality standards throughout the construction and/or remodel process. Responsibilities • Oversee daily operations on the construction site and of the crew, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and with high standards. • Manage and coordinate carpentry tasks, including framing, installation of structures, and finish work. • Communicate with the office and owners to keep projects progressing; regarding materials, schedules and project timelines. • Have and utilize your construction knowledge but also be willing to communicate with and learn from the owners & office. • Conduct regular inspections of work performed by others on the crew to ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations and the company's expectations for quality of work. • Train and mentor junior carpenters and laborers, fostering a productive work environment. • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and rest of the team to facilitate smooth operations. Qualifications • Proven experience in carpentry with a clear desire to continue to learn as well as to teach and manage others • Proficiency in using construction tools. • Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and regulations. • Leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work. • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks as required on-site.
