Construction Worker - Carpenter

About the position Responsibilities • Learn, keep current with and apply the Morton Buildings' safety and construction procedures, methods, and standards • Read, understand and build according to construction plans • Utilize various tools and equipment to safely and efficiently construct buildings • Efficiently execute tasks such as: digging and installing footings, framing walls and roof structures, installing windows, entry and other doors and door openings, installing various siding and roofing materials including hi-rib steel, shingles, wood and other siding materials and mortarless masonry units, finishing with metal and wood trims • Work with other crew personnel in a safe, organized, productive and enjoyable work environment treating everyone with dignity and respect Requirements • Building construction (post-frame), carpentry or framing experience preferred (on the job or in school) • Willingness to participate in and complete a training program • A valid driver's license is preferred • Available to work 9-10 hours during peak construction season • Ability to take direction • Produce quality work in an efficient manner • Agree to comply with all our safety processes and procedures • Willingness to maintain and operate construction tools in a safe and proper manner • Ability to operate specialized safety equipment efficiently and effectively • Standard weight lifting requirements - 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds • Capable of working in a physically demanding environment and at various heights (up to 40 feet) • Possess good communication skills - both written and verbal Benefits • \$500 quarterly retention bonus for the first year of employment • Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) • Excellent medical/dental/prescription coverage • Life Insurance • Training bonus • Safety incentives • Paid holidays • Paid vacation • Paid sick time • Bad weather pay • 401K Opportunity • AND SO MUCH MORE..

Construction Framer

Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Building Framer with proven experience in all aspects of structural framing, including the construction of roof systems. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret blueprints, work efficiently with a team, and ensure all work meets building codes and safety standards. Responsibilities • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans. • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials to construct framing structures. • Erect and install wall and floor systems, including sub-flooring and sole plates. • Construct and assemble roof systems, including the installation of rafters, trusses, and sheathing. • Install other framing components, such as stair stringers and attic access points. • Ensure all framing is square, plumb, and level according to specifications. • Install windows, doors, and other fixtures. • Inspect and repair damaged framing structures as needed. • Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. • Collaborate with other construction professionals and tradespeople. Qualifications • Proven experience as a framer or carpenter. • Strong understanding of geometry, mathematics, and technical drawings. • Proficiency with hand and power tools, including circular saws and nail guns. • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials. • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • High school diploma or equivalent is often required; an apprenticeship completion is beneficial.
