Position Summary As a Carpenter you will play a crucial role in lead, repairing, and restoring large residential properties following water damage, fire damage, or general wear and tear. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Responsibilities • Keep records of work performed, materials used, and project timelines for future reference. • Identify and address issues that arise during construction, finding effective solutions to maintain project timelines. • Assess and repair existing structures, including fixing damaged frameworks, floors, and other wooden components. • Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and smooth wood, plastic, and other materials according to specifications. • Lead and coordinate the work of construction workers and subcontractors, assigning tasks and monitoring performance. • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process, finding effective solutions to keep the project on track. • Maintain clear communication with clients regarding project status and expectations. • Follow safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe work environment. • Keep work areas clean and organized throughout the restoration process. • Other duties as assigned or apparent. Skills/Qualifications Required • Two or more years of proven experience in carpentry or construction. • Management Experience. • Ability to interpret blueprints and restoration plans. • Technologically adept. • Excellent problem-solving skills. • This role requires candidates to provide their own tools. • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record. • Proficient in using hand and power tools related to carpentry. • Ability to work collaboratively with restoration teams and clients. Preferred • Previous experience working in Restoration or the insurance repair industry is a plus. • Familiar with local building codes. • OSHA 10/30/40 Certification. The Restoration industry is a dynamic and challenging environment that involves both indoor and outdoor settings. You will often work in buildings and structures that have been damaged by water, fire, mold, or other disasters. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in potentially hazardous conditions, including confined spaces, heights, extreme temperatures, and exposure to dust, microbial growth, and other contaminants.
