Finish Carpenter

Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team. The Finish Carpenter will be responsible for completing detailed carpentry work that enhances the final appearance and function of residential and commercial projects. This role requires precision, problem-solving, and a strong eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes. Key Responsibilities • Install trim, molding, baseboards, doors, windows, cabinets, and other finished woodwork. • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements. • Measure, cut, assemble, and fit wood and other materials with accuracy. • Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently. • Inspect and repair existing woodwork, ensuring quality standards are met. • Collaborate with other team members, contractors, and supervisors to meet project deadlines. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with all safety policies. Job Overview A construction professional will be responsible for supporting the execution of construction projects by applying construction fundamentals and best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction management principles and possess excellent communication and teamwork skills. Main Responsibilities • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of company safety and quality plans to ensure a safe working environment. • Assists with project QA/QC planning to ensure high-quality work is delivered. • Learns and participates in estimating and change management processes, including quantity take-off and review of subcontractor proposals. • Works closely with project teams to support tasks such as monitoring crew size, self-perform hours, materials, quantity, and equipment. • Participates in activities like punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews, quality reviews, and documentation preparation. • Posts drawings and specifications with the latest information. • Organizes and participates in project meetings. Prepares and disseminates required documentation as necessary. • Participates in and prepares various reports, including project daily reports, weekly progress reports, unit reporting, percentage complete, daily manpower, production schedules, equipment tracking, etc., to support the project. • Performs regular job site observations with project leadership. • Captures procurement logs based on the project schedule and specification requirements. Tracks shop drawings and follows up with deliveries as directed by the project team. • Provides progress updates and reports back to the project team to support scheduling. • Supports the close-out process for projects, including punch lists, operations and maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, etc. • Applies company best practice standards and fundamentals for building and construction techniques. • Develops relationships and improves communication and interpersonal skills with tradespeople and project team members, such as foremen, journeymen, superintendents, subcontractors, etc. • Gains an understanding of various functions and support roles across the organization and how each contributes to project success. • Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in project settings. • Learns and incorporates Lean practices into daily activities. • Learns about best practices for identifying, developing, and integrating self-perform opportunities into projects. Key Qualifications • Able to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Proficient in MS Office. • Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources. • Knowledge of Lean processes and philosophy. • Familiarity with required construction technology. • Able to apply fundamental construction management principles. • Knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity. • Able to assess and optimize project productivity. • Familiarity with specific trades and scopes of work. • Able to build relationships and collaborate within teams, internally and externally. Educational Requirements • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered. Work Environment • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. • May require periods of travel and/or relocation. • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs. • May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold). • Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling. • Occasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen.
