Skilled Construction Employee

Overview We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Skilled Construction Employee to join our team. The ideal candidates will play a crucial role in various construction projects, contributing to the building and maintenance of structures while ensuring safety and efficiency on the job site. This position requires physical stamina, teamwork, and a commitment to quality work. Duties and Responsibilities • Moving, securing, installing, building, loading, or unloading materials • Assisting in the building or construction of various things. Some specialized tasks may require on-the-job training • Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the job site/assignment • Trenching- water line and sewer improvement projects, operating Excavation equipment • Backfilling procedures • Load/unload tools, equipment, and materials • Must be willing and able to hand dig, lift heavy objects (up to 80#), and work in all weather conditions. • (Groundwork) Keeping up with Excavator Operator • Safe and expert use of hand tools and power tools • Experience with a skid steer, skip loader, compactors, generators, air compressors, and power tools is a plus. • Ensure site cleanliness/housekeeping and proper waste disposal at end of the shift • Ensuring that Health and Safety are the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times • Performing other job-related duties as required Requirements and Qualifications • High school diploma or GED certificate • Construction Experience – 1 year (Preferred) • Underground/moving dirt: 1 year (Preferred) • Water truck, dump trucks, skid steer (a plus) • Valid Driver's license with reliable transportation • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test. • Ability to operate construction vehicles and equipment including dump trucks and water trucks. • Any specialized general construction or laborer training is preferred but not required. • Strong work ethic • Underground or OSHA-specific certifications are a plus • Understanding of job site safety procedures. • Available for emergencies such as snowfall, heavy rains, floods, downed trees, etc. • Reliable, committed, respectful, and community oriented. • Must be able to work overtime and weekends if necessary. General Trade Construction Foreman

Status: Full-time, exempt, in-person Location: Georgetown, KY Date: 4/25/25 Meyer Midwest (MM) is a general trades and facility maintenance contractor for industrial, commercial, and municipal projects in Central Kentucky. Within our organization, a project manager has the opportunity to lead projects that have a lasting impact in the communities in which we live and work. They manage projects with efficiency and bring projects to a successful completion by coordinating with other MM personnel, customers and third parties. • Responsibilities: Job Summary: Meyer Midwest is seeking an experienced General Trades or Carpentry Foreman to oversee and manage a construction crew. The foreman will prioritize and coordinate work, oversee the crew as work is performed, and ensure the high-quality production is executed safely and on time. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required. Essential Accountabilities: • Personnel Management- Provide input to project management and HR regarding staffing needs and staffing changes including promotions, performance issues or discharge. He/she will enter time for each crew member for weekly payroll. • Safety: Embrace company’s goal to be world class in safety. • Participate in our safety culture that emphasizes the safety of each team member as well as other people who may come in contact with our work. • Inspect the work environment to verify no hazardous conditions exist prior to work. • Ensure workers obey all safety regulations and Company safety policies. This includes ensuring workers have proper PPE and communicating safety policies and procedures to employees, especially new hires as part of the New Hire Safety Observation policy. • Incident Reporting: In the event of an accident, report the incident and any employee injuries immediately and follow proper procedures to address injuries appropriately and emergently if needed. • Document details and participate in reviewing the incident with management, leadership and safety professionals. • Equipment: Uphold and model proper equipment inspection and maintenance practices. Operate equipment in an efficient, safe, and non-abusive manner. Schedule downtime for routine maintenance and report mechanical issues or repair needs immediately. • Production: Perform initial quality inspections to ensure that production is meeting the Company’s quality standards. • · Track inventory and initiate requisitions for needed materials and equipment. • · Prepare production reports. • · Assist other workers as needed. Other: • Assist with estimating if needed. • · Comply with all company policies, procedures, and requirements. · All employees are expected to have reliable transportation or use other means to ensure daily attendance at work. Minimum Qualifications: Education/Training: Advanced vocational training, professional certification or associates degree in carpentry construction will be viewed as a strength but is not a requirement. Licenses/Certifications: OSHA 10, OSHA 30 (training can be provided by Meyer Midwest if necessary); ability to complete OSHA 510 after hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English including reading and writing. Experience operating other heavy civil construction equipment is appreciated but not required. Work Experience: At least five (5) years’ supervising general trades or carpentry required; 10 years preferred. Compensation & Benefits This is a salaried position with a competitive compensation package. Final offer will depend on individual work experience and expertise. The position includes use of Company truck for performing job duties and cell phone reimbursement. Compensation also includes qualified per diem, paid holidays, and accrual of paid vacation time per company policy.
