Essential Duties and Responsibilities: General Description: Responsible for providing expertise in the area of Frame Carpentry, and quality control for all work on the assigned project. Interaction with other employees, subcontractors and vendors will be an intergral part of this postion. While this position is not specifically a supervisory/management postion it is the responsibility of all Carpenters to be observant of the surrounding activities and help the Management Team enforce HCI Quality and Safety Protocol. Specific Responsibilites: • Full Time presence on the work site and available at all times to any employees assigned thereto • Maintain daily project communication with the Project Management team as required • Ensure that company Safety Policy is being followed at all times by all individuals on site, even visitors such as design professionals and clients • Work with all members of the Project Team to ensure that execution is as seemless as possible and rework is minimized • Provide regular feedback to supervisor on schedule challenges and employee performance in time to avoid delays or compromised quality • Maintain accurate materials inventory and procurement schedule for all items associated with assigned tasks • Accurately track purchases made for project as allowed by supervisor and ensure all paperwork is delivered to Management Team • Proactively coordinate all activities and generate resolutions to conflicts that arise that will not delay progress, compromise quality or impact costs • Maintain all project documentation and specifications in an orderly fashion for all tasks as assigned on the project • Construction tasks from foundations to framed floors, walls, stair assemblies, ceilings and roof lines in a timely manner and with an unsurpassed level of quality. • Provide layout for other subcontractors and carpenters from project documents accurate to 1/16th of an inch; plumb and square • Operate machinery as required on the site to expedite materials logistics • Provide general construction services not related to the framing trade as needed to expedite construction on the project • Provide framing services for everything from concrete sidewalk and stair forming to hip rafter layout on multiplane roof systems and everything in between Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: General Description: Construction experience is required. General knowledge of framing and trim, and the ability to read blue prints REQUIRED. Work with various types of materials of both fibrous and metallic nature will be a regular requirement of this project. The ability to work between various materials is strongly encouraged. Specific Requirements: • Valid Drivers License • High school diploma or GED • Exposure to multiple means and methods of carpentry and residential/commercial construction • Exposure to all mechanical systems of building construction and their integration with finishes strongly encouraged • A minimum of 1 year experience as a carpenter in the construction industry • The ability to translate thoughts and ideas from paper to the worksite in a manner acceptable to the Management Team • The ability to work within tolerances of 1/16th of an inch regularly and the ability to recognize variations up to 1/32nd of an inch • Willingness to work in high pressure situations and projects with tight deadlines • Effective verbal communication skills with both internal and external customers • Ability to work with various materials on the worksite in a knowledgeable fashion • Effective leadership skills for teams of 2-10 individuals at a time including company employees and subcontractors • Possession of the necessary tools to carry out the assigned tasks in top working condition Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs • Must be able to walk on a roof during and after construction with proper Personal Protection Equipment • Must be able to work on elevated platforms • Must be able to navigate through low clearance crawl spaces • Must be able to navigate through a standard truss framed attic • Must be able to work outdoor in climatic environments standard for the region • Must have 20/40 natural or corrected vision
