Job Overview Build & Transform Construction is seeking experienced, detail-oriented, and skilled Journeyman Carpenters to join our team! Our project scopes are remodels, renovations, deck builds, additions/ADU's, new builds, window installations, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry techniques including siding, interior/exterior trim work, interior finish, framing and other trades as necessary and able. This role requires a commitment to quality workmanship, attention to detail, punctuality, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Journeyman Carpenter will be responsible for executing a range of carpentry tasks, ensuring that all work meets industry standards and client expectations. Requirements • Valid Driver's License • Must have reliable transportation (4x4 preferred due to weather conditions and job site locations) • Tools Required: cordless drills, nail guns, compressor, chop saw & table saw (to be purchased and owned by the employee) • Ability to safely use basic hand tools/power tools • 3 years' experience in the construction industry preferred • Must be physically capable of lifting lumber, framing, and finishing work on the job site • Must be able to read a tape measure and measure accurately • Must be able to work from heights above 20 feet using ladders and/or scaffolding • Working knowledge of (including but not limited to): framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, tile, demolition, finish carpentry, concrete work, etc. • Impeccable communication and attention to detail • Must possess OSHA 10 card (or be willing to obtain within first 60 days of employment) • Willingness to travel outside of Reno area (Truckee/Tahoe/Carson City/etc.) Responsibilities: • Job site roll out and clean up • Cutting and handling raw lumber • Perform finish carpentry, siding, trim & framing • Restore and remodel existing structures to enhance functionality and aesthetics • Ensure all installations are plumb and level, adhering to building codes • Execute caulking tasks to seal joints and prevent water intrusion • Follow directions while using good judgement to understand when changes need to be made and questions need to be asked • Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time • Safely operate power tools • Show up on time, ready to work in a presentable & professional manner • Ability to work in various weather conditions Experience • Proven experience as a Journeyperson Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, tools, and safety practices • Familiarity with remodeling processes • Experience in water damage restoration and mold remediation is a plus • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail • Work closely with clients, subcontractors and team members in a professional and respectful manner Schedule • Monday - Friday, 7am-3:30pm (arrive at 6:45am) About Us At Build & Transform Construction, we strive to maintain a healthy, fun work environment where personal and professional growth are a priority at all levels.
