This position also involves operating cement mixers, power tools and other types of equipment as well as other assigned duties Duties and Responsibilities: • Builds and assembles wood forms and form systems using saws, hammers, drills, and other power tools as required • Digs ditches and trenches • Compacts and levels dirt to grade specifications. • Shovels cement and other materials into portable cement mixers. • Mixes, pours and spreads concrete • Uses hand tools such as hammer, shovels, chainsaws, drills, hydraulic tools, etc. for necessary tasks. • Provides assistance to other workers • Erects and disassembles scaffolding, shoring, barricades, etc. • Loads and unloads equipment Education and/or Experience: • Two years' minimum Carpenter experience • High School education or equivalent preferred • Ability to read and understand construction plans, preferred • Bridge construction preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: • Attention to Detail • Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers and the public • Able to comply with all safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations • Able to comply with all company policies and procedures • Ability to travel and work overtime (including nights and weekends) when required • Must have a strong work ethic • Valid driver's license, preferred • Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screen.
