Skilled Carpenter

Experienced Carpenters needed for homes/apartments on Fort Liberty and across the Fayetteville, NC area - 40 hours per week. Responsibilities: · Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work. · Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation. · Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures. · Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s budget and style. · Liaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals. · Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations. · Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed. · Cut, shape, smooth, fabricate, and/or install lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements. · Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items. · Lay out floorings, roofings, or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible. · Assemble cabinets, shelves, and other items, and install them where designated. · Inspect areas to conduct repairs or maintenance. · Build scaffolding and other construction structures when necessary. Requirements and Skills: • High school diploma or GED. • Valid driver's license. • A minimum, two (2) years’ experience as a carpenter. • Proven carpentry and general construction experience. • Sound knowledge of business ordinances. • The ability to lift heavy materials and tools. • The ability to use powered hand tools. • Excellent communication skills. • Exceptional customer service skills. • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to get a pass and access Fort Liberty.
