Carpenter (OCONUS)

Amentum is seeking a Carpenter for multiple OCONUS locations contingent upon award. The Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work, including the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures. Essential Responsibilities • Execute carpentry tasks such as repairs, installation of floor and ceiling tiles, walls, masonry work, locksmithing, and cabinet making. • Operate small power tools and machinery as required. • Read blueprints and perform material take-offs from prints. • Provide leadership and communicate effectively with customers and subordinates. Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required • High school graduate or GED equivalent. • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or vocational program for a journeyman carpenter with eight (8) years of experience. • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs. • Two (2) years of supervisory experience. • Willingness to work rotational shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as required. • Required clearances are site-driven. Must possess a SECRET security clearance at the start of the contract and obtain the appropriate clearance within eight (8) months of contract award. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands Carpenters work in various environments, handling physical tasks such as lifting and using tools. Mental demands include problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication and leadership. The schedule for this role is 3rd shift schedule Sunday - Thursday (11pm -7am) Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Perform Tenant Requested Painting and Carpentry Services: Small painting and carpentry requests to include but not limited to fixing broken pantry cabinets, patch and paint hole in wall, patch and paint touch ups. • Perform self-discovery tickets of painting and carpentry services. • Perform routine and periodic painting and carpentry per the painting plan. • Perform maintenance and repair of walls, doors, frames, windows, window frames, ceilings, roofs, floors, all types of framing, shelving, tables, benches, cabinets, counters, countertops and facings, signs, scaffolds, and different building components such as wood, wood substitutes, metal, Masonite board, plastics, laminates, sheet rock, paneling, etc. • Install, repair, or replace building hardware including door closers, door hinges and/or stops. • Construct and install building framework, including walls, floors and door frames. • Maintain an inventory of supplies. • Follow safeguards, rules and regulations • Move furniture 50lbs or less for fulfillment of carpentry and painting services. • Repair/replace commercial grade carpet floor tiles. • Maintain a clean working area Qualifications: • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Carpenter • Experience making repairs • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading. • Must be able to work 3rd shift schedule Sunday - Thursday (11pm -7am) Physical Demands: • Must be able to lift 50 lbs • Ability to climb, walk and stand for long periods of time.
