Skillforce is looking for experienced commercial carpenter-journeymen to join ongoing projects in Lexington Park, MD. About the Role: Salary Range: $28.00-$31.00 hourly (DOE) The Commercial Carpenter-Journeyman plays a crucial role in the construction industry by executing high-quality carpentry work on various commercial projects. This position requires a deep understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and safety protocols to ensure that all structures are built to specifications and standards. The journeyman will collaborate with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople to deliver projects on time and within budget. Attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship are essential, as the work directly impacts the functionality and aesthetics of the completed structures. Ultimately, the goal is to contribute to the successful completion of commercial buildings that meet client expectations and regulatory requirements. Minimum Qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years experience as a commercial carpenter. • Proven experience in commercial carpentry, including framing, drywall installation, and finishing work. • Must have reliable transportation. • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. • Osha 10 or 30 is a plus, but not required. • Must have your own tools. Responsibilities: • Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials according to project specifications. • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine project requirements and dimensions. • Operate boom lifts and other machinery safely to access elevated work areas and perform carpentry tasks. • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards throughout the construction process. • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to resolve issues and ensure project milestones are met.
