We have an exciting opportunity for a Carpenter who supports Facilities Management's goal of providing consistent, cost effective, and reliable maintenance and service to the Housing zone. The Housing zone provides facilities services to Housing and Residential life (HRL) properties consisting of 7 , 000 beds distributed through 180 buildings, encompassing 3 million square feet of occupied residential space. Our portfolio includes single family homes, traditional residence halls and apartments. Th is position performs work of moderate difficulty with responsibilities for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures of wood, plywood, wallboards, sheet metal, and other building materials. Carpenter s also perform other miscellaneous duties such as lock installation and repair, replacing glass and ceiling and floor tiles, and other building trade-related duties. Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,100 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair, and maintenance of UVA's buildings, infrastructure, and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties.
