TIG Welder

TIG Welder – Stainless Steel Fabrication We are looking for a skilled TIG Welder to join our team in crafting high-quality commercial food industry products. This role is essential in the fabrication of cabinets, counters, food guards, and breath guards. You will work closely with shop drawings, layouts, and blueprints to ensure precision and efficiency in every project. Key Responsibilities: • Precision Welding: Perform 100% TIG welding on food-grade stainless steel, ensuring durability and compliance with industry standards. • Fabrication Expertise: Construct cabinets, counters, and food guards with a focus on quality and detail. • Blueprint Interpretation: Analyze and interpret plans, sketches, layouts, and work orders to sequence sheet metal assignments accurately. Essential Skills: • Proficiency in TIG welding, particularly with stainless steel. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for fabrication. • Experience working with food-grade stainless steel, meeting strict industry requirements. • Strong fabrication and assembly skills. Additional Qualifications: • Previous experience in a fabrication environment is highly beneficial. Work Environment: • Medium-sized fabrication shop featuring clean, well-lit spaces designed for efficiency and safety. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Required Skills • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding preferred. • Proven experience as a Welder or similar role, with at least 2-3 years of experience in welding operations. • Proficiency in MIG, and TIG welding techniques; familiarity with other welding processes is a plus. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in welding operations. • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. • Knowledge of welding equipment setup, maintenance and troubleshooting. • Familiarity with safety procedures and practices in welding operations. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Purpose: Under limited supervision, operates all welding equipment and performs position welding functions with a high degree of proficiency. Essential Job Functions: • Review daily welding production schedule with Production Lead to insure awareness of requirements and output required • Read blue prints to determine required weld locations, components and layouts • Weld component parts as required referring to prints or product books as necessary • Perform grinding, deburring and polishing duties required in the process of producing finished, high quality welding projects • Report immediately to the supervisor any and all problems which may effect safety, equipment, tooling and or quality • Inspect work periodically to insure that welds are consistent with approved levels of quantity and quality established by the company • Repair any re-weld to German DIN/AWS standard and field welding • Operate bar code scanner/computer • Other duties as assigned Requirements: Physical Demands: • Pass Jager Eye examination, annually • Perform work in the plant facility 100% of the time • Lift up to 50 pounds, as needed Education/Skills/Experience: • Technical degree in Welding required • Pass Schwing America, Inc. welding tests and maintain welding certification by passing periodic welding tests conducted by the Quality Control department • Qualified to AWS D.1.1 • Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills • Ability to read blue prints • Familiarity with computers to look up work instructions, track labor and other tasks as needed
