Structural Welder Briese Iron Works – Rochester, MN Job Summary: Responsible for welding structural steel effectively and efficiently in order to build steel structures. Welds, cuts steel, operates grinders, drills as well as performing various other fabrication functions. This is a full-time position working 5 – ten hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Overtime is paid out after 40 hours. Position Reports To: The Director of Production and/or the Department Leader. Position Essential Functions and Responsibilities: • Build, and fabricate beams, columns, girders, and other members to form buildings and other steel structures. • Cut, position, and weld members meeting AISC, AWS, and Briese Iron Works standards. • Operate bridge cranes to move steel and other materials around the fabrication shop. • Mark steel in accordance with AISC standards. • Read a tape measure down to 1/16” increments. • Perform other duties as assigned. Specific Skills: • Maintain a neat and organized work station. • Ability to weld using FCAW and GMAW processes. • Ability to operate an Oxy/Acetylene cutting torch. • Ability to operate a manual plasma cutter. • Promote a positive working environment to achieve company goals.
