Welder - 1st Shift

Wenger Corporation is seeking a Welder | Metal Fabricator responsible to operate various metal forming equipment and MIG weld while working under limited supervision within assigned areas in a manner, which meets or exceeds established quality and quantity standards. At a minimum, you'll need: • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints • Experience with tape measure, calipers, and other measuring instruments • Reading text and documents, basic math, writing and oral communications within team environment • Problem solving, critical thinking, planning, prioritizing, and organizing • Ability to operate hand tools • Ability to stand for long periods of time • Light to moderate lifting It would be great if you also have: • Vocational/technical school welding certificate • 6 months of MIG welding experience In this role, a typical day might include: • Working positively in group settings, valuing input from others and offering assistance when needed to ensure success • Sets up, adjusts and operates with accuracy a variety of metal fabrication equipment including but not limited to: MIG welders, press brake, shear, and forming machine • Determine materials required and follow sequence of tasks outlined on production orders • Manufacture products using engineering drawings and blueprints to meet product specifications • Ability to complete a thorough inspection of parts • Maintain equipment and environment to be clean and safe • English proficiency is required for this manufacturing position to ensure safety compliance and fulfillment of operational needs. The candidate must be able to speak, read and understand English in order to follow equipment instructions, understand safety protocols and respond to emergency situations. Strong English skills are also necessary for communicating with team members, supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth production processes and to maintain quality standards. • While performing the functions of the job, the team member is continuously required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The team member is frequently required to kneel, crouch, squat, bend, twist/turn, and climb ladder/stairs. The team member is continuously required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate machines, equipment, tools, or controls. Team member is continuously required to reach with hands and arms. The functions of the job include occasionally viewing a computer monitor and repetitive motion activities on the keyboard. The team member may continuously be required to lift, move, push/pull up to and over 50 pounds. Job Title: Welder Job Description Join a very fast-paced, production environment where you will be responsible for Pulse (MIG) welding on mild steel throughout the day. You will utilize weld fixtures and symbols to complete units within a set time frame, averaging 2,000-2,500 welds per day. Your focus will be on maintaining consistent cosmetic welding quality while wearing necessary safety gear, including a weld helmet, gloves, weld jacket, steel toe boots, and ear plugs. Your productivity will be measured by the weld cell rather than individually. Responsibilities • Perform Pulse (MIG) welding on mild steel using weld fixtures and symbols. • Complete an average of 2,000-2,500 welds per day in a production-based environment. • Ensure consistent cosmetic welding quality. • Load metal onto fixtures and use symbols to weld parts of the unit. • Unload completed units and pass them along for further assembly. Essential Skills • Consistent and steady welding skills in MIG/TIG/PULSE. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day. • Capability to read and interpret weld symbols. • Adaptability to work in a hot and physically demanding environment. • Strong memorization skills.
