Welder (2nd Shift)

We are a full-service metal manufacturing company that was founded in 1908. We are dedicated to our people, processes, and continuous improvement! We hope you can join us on our journey! We are seeking a skilled welder (2nd shift) to join our team. As a welder, you will be responsible for utilizing your welding expertise to fabricate and repair metal structures and components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of welding techniques, safety standards, and equipment maintenance. We require someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail, and can work efficiently alone or in a team. Responsibilities • Operator welds various configurations of metal assemblies using fixtures and plans for proper welding joint design. • Ensure quality of weld joint; makes proper adjustments for equipment settings. • Ensures product produced meets or exceeds customer specifications. • Reviews work orders and follows process specifications to avoid costly errors. • Grinding and sanding to various finishes according to customer requirements and/or process specs. • Follow all safety steps and procedures to ensure safe equipment operation. • Ensures correct welding rod, wire, etc. is used. • Ensures correct parts count. • Notify supervisor to resolve process, product, equipment, and production issues. • Ability to understand and follow job routing and blueprint instructions. • Skills to set up and operate welding equipment, learn about using fixtures, measuring tolerances and the use of various gauges. • Performs other related duties as required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Welding Opportunities – 2nd Shift Door Engineering | A Division of Senneca Holdings At Door Engineering, we design and build custom industrial and commercial doors that are made to last. We’re currently hiring for various levels of welding positions on our 2nd Shift team. Core hours are Monday–Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with occasional overtime on Fridays. Whether you're just starting out or bringing years of experience, we want to hear from you! While 1–3+ years of professional welding experience is preferred, we’re open to all skill levels. We’ll support your growth, including helping you develop the skills needed to pass the AWS D1.1 certification. This role is hands-on and flexible — you’ll primarily weld but may also support other stages of production as needed. Required Qualifications: What We Are Looking For: • A welder who currently holds an AWS D1.1 Certification or has the demonstrated ability to pass the test. • The ideal candidate has the ability to learn new tasks and concepts quickly. • Preferred qualification of a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fabrication environment including drilling, welding, and various hand tools. • Ability to use handheld measuring tools such as a tape measurer, combination square, and other measuring instruments. • Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently. • High level of attention to detail and accuracy. • Demonstrated ability to execute on SOP, quality, and safety practices. • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workflow effectively to accomplish deadlines. • Good communication skills.
