Essential Duties: • Plan the details of work order procedures; gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job. • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and operations. • Set up components for welding by positioning, aligning, and securing parts prior to assembly. • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. • Weld outlets on carbon steel pipe per the production sheets. • Cut holes on the pipe for the outlets per production sheets. • Fabricate pipe pieces per drawings and production sheets. • Weld flanges on to pipes. • Develop templates and models for welding projects, using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information. • Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. • Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
