Job Title: Stainless Steel Welder / Fabricator Location: Paso Robles, California Department: Fabrication / Welding Reports To: Shop Supervisor Job Type: Full-Time Work Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (4/10-hour shifts) Pay Range: $41,600 – $62,400 annually, DOE Job Summary We are currently seeking a skilled Stainless-Steel Welder / Fabricator to join our fabrication team in Paso Robles, CA. This position is responsible for welding and assembling components used in the construction of carbon and stainless-steel tanks. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint interpretation skills, welding proficiency across multiple positions, and experience working with both stainless and carbon steel in a manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to determine job requirements. • Weld components in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. • Perform grinding, dressing, and finishing of welds to meet required specifications. • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment safely and efficiently. • Utilize a range of fabrication tools including welders, plasma cutters, torches, shears, punches, and power tools. • Fabricate, assemble, and modify parts using stainless steel and carbon steel materials. • Perform cutting, brazing, grinding, and layout per production needs. • Ensure welds meet quality standards through self-inspection and rework if necessary. • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with shop safety procedures. Qualifications Required Education and Experience • Minimum of 2 years welding experience in a manufacturing or construction environment. • Valid Driver’s License. Preferred Qualifications • Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes. • Familiarity with both MIG and TIG welding processes. • Prior work with stainless steel tanks or industrial fabrication projects is a plus. Skills and Competencies • Proficient in all welding positions and fabrication techniques. • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Attention to detail and quality assurance in all tasks. Work Environment This position operates in a fabrication shop and industrial manufacturing environment. Conditions include: • Exposure to loud noise, welding fumes, grinding sparks, and heavy machinery. • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including: • Safety glasses with side shields • Hearing protection • Welding hoods and gloves • Steel toe boots (required) • Work areas may be dusty, hot, or physically demanding depending on project phase. Physical Requirements • Must be able to stand, bend, reach, and walk for prolonged periods throughout the shift. • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs using safe lifting techniques. • May be required to reach above shoulder height or below waist to store or retrieve items.
