We are seeking a Fabrication Welder to become an integral part of our team! Maintenance 2: This is a journey level position responsible for performing assigned duties without detailed instructions, only occasional instructions as new or unusual situations arise. This position performs a variety of maintenance and construction tasks associated with the installation, repair and maintenance of irrigation canals, drains, irrigation ditches, pipelines, crossings, and other related facilities. Operate a variety of construction equipment in a skilled manner for installation, maintenance or repair of pipelines and related structures; perform pick and shovel work. Perform other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: • Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products • Install and repair various equipment and components • Follow blueprints to meet product specifications • Calculate material measurements to verify specifications • Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance ​Qualifications: • Previous experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields • Familiarity with welding tools and procedures • Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics • Ability to handle physical workload​​​​​​ Education and Experience: • High School graduation or tested equivalent. • One (1) year of experience related to repair and maintenance in an irrigation district, metal work or general construction experience is desirable. Working Hours The regular workweek consists of a minimum of forty-five (45) hours, nine (9) hours a day, five (5) days a week. The work schedule may require this position to respond to emergencies and serve on the on-call rotation for service calls during non-work hours, weekends, and holidays. Additionally, this position may be required to work a variety of scheduled shifts and work overtime as required. It is understood this position may require working hours not normally considered business hours to meet the emergency needs of the District including weekends, holidays and after hours. Company DescriptionHMRD works in conjunction with SLCC to deliver irrigation water and provide drainage service to SLCC customers. As a member of the San Joaquin River Exchange Contractors, SLCC has an annual contractual entitlement of 163,000 acre-feet (AF). The actual deliveries to farmers average 130,000 acre-feet per year.
