What You'll Do • Join and Fabricate: Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes. • Prepare and Set Up: Position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools • Lift and Position Materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed. • Ensure Quality: Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications. • Contribute to Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities. • Maintain and Organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5-S practices. See More Details >>Position Summary A Welder is responsible for assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components per the customers specifications. Job Responsibilities • Repair and fabricate equipment and parts using various welding techniques as per customer expectation. • Assist Shop with other production jobs (as assigned) keeping in mind safety, customer, and company expectations. • All work and decisions shall be conducted in strict compliance of all regulatory laws. • Communicate with peers and management for effective problem resolution and transfer of pertinent information. • Other duties as assigned. Required Experience and Qualifications: • High School diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field. Welding certificate a plus. • Exposure to warehouse environment (able to stand for long periods of time, able to move product as required). • Knowledge of various safety standards such as OSHA and any state safety standards • Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA, OSHA, IEEE and NFPA • Proven mechanical skills and/or experience with different types of low and high voltage equipment (requirement varies on location). • Able to effectively problem solve. • Basic computer skills for data entry, looking up information, and/or creating reports. • Able to communicate oral and written communication skills; follow directions-written direction, oral direction, reading work orders and/or specs as assigned; work in a team environment and communicate with team, various departments, and/or Customers as business needs dictate. • Customer Focused-able to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, and produce a quality work product • For positions that utilize a company vehicle, will be required to have a valid driver’s license. • Able to read blueprints and drawings along with taking measurements to plan layout and procedures • Able to determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements • Able to set up components for welding according to specifications • For positions that utilize a company vehicle, will be required to have a valid driver’s license.
