Job Summary: Fabricate, position, align and fit parts of structural metal products to meet precise specifications. Set up and operate various machines to cut, bend, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, or straighten metal material. Lay out, fit and weld materials used in fabrication of components to assemble structural forms. Responsibilities: • Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements, task sequences and operational methods. • Measure dimensions of completed products and verify conformance to specifications using squares, rulers and measuring tapes. • Position, align and fit parts according to specifications using jacks, turn buckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars and hammers. • Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, GTAW-ARC (TIG) welding, submerged arc or other processes used by the company.
