Overall Responsibilities: • Assembles, refines, and welds in relation to the production or manufacture of various types of products. Follows exact manufacturing instructions indicating specified finish, style, and quality control requirements of product to be processed. Sets up, repairs, and operates equipment as needed. May inventory materials and supplies and report order needs to supervisor. May specialize in certain tasks. The Department Positions Include: Welds Assembly RESPONSIBILITIES: • Sets up equipment and Welds metal parts together using Tig welding processes. • Performs related tasks such as cutting, grinding, bolting, or riveting. • Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases the size of metal parts. • Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding. • Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. • Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding. • Attends group meetings periodically to learn new or modified tasks. • Examines welding components to detect defects. • Perform various basic and skilled Manufacturing Production Labor tasks and processes to achieve a finished product. The tasks will vary depending on the position, skill level and experience. • Uses air drills to fabricate, assemble and dissemble fiberglass and aluminum truck products • Does light maintenance work to repair return items? • Is cross-trained on and performs the duties of at least one other position within own department • Cleans and washes finished truck products such as truck caps, by hand by using water and or cleaning solutions • Inspects own work to identify defects, production errors, and quality issues and takes action to report and or correct/issues. • Physically moves doors, rails, windows etc. from one production station to another and rotates the products to accommodate fabrication. This involves lifting, twisting, caring, and using various tools. • Applies careful handling processes to avoid physical damage to the product • Applies and follows all company safety polices including lockout, tag out, and other OSHA regulations • Accurately pulls each product and assembles the parts to complete each order • Maintains a clean and organized work area. • Diligence to maintain quality standards. • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations. • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing the duties as assigned. Characteristics, Skills & Requirements: • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Must be a self-starter capable of working both independently, as well as part of a team. • Critical thinking, analysis, and creativity.
